My self-summary
What's there to say about myself? A lot, actually. The best way to get to know me is to talk to me. I know that sounds stupid and generic, but, y'know, it's the truth. I suppose I'm sort of a geeky person with a plethora of interests, including but not limited to gaming, anime, comics, swordplay, martial arts, theatre, music, among many, many others. I have a tendency to be a little dopey, in that kinda scatterbrained sort of way. My mind is everywhere and nowhere all at once, and sometimes that means I'll have a very brief stupid spell once in a while. (Brief here meaning literally a few seconds, never more.) Shyness is probably one of my defining features, despite being known in high school as "most exposed during a school function." (I'll explain that if you want me to do so. It's not as weird as it sounds, really.) Once I start coming out of my shell, I'm more outgoing. Though it takes a little work to get me out. I'm also a massive dork (refer to pretty much any of my pictures). I dunno what more to say without getting more personal than I'd like or just downright dirty. Also worth mentioning, I identify as genderfluid, fluctuating between masculine, feminine, and neutral.

If you've gotten this far and wanna know more without having to talk to my dumb face, you can check out my tumblr over at squad-of-squids.tumblr.com
It'll give you some insight to what kind of guy I am and what I'm into and such.

Also, INFP if you're into the whole Myers-Briggs thing. And Sanguine if you're into that other one.
What I’m doing with my life
Going to school for computer information services. The goal is to learn what I can there and repair computers for a living, maybe going back to university for more in-depth programming classes and such when I have the money.

Also, dreaming about running away to apprentice for a blacksmith. (Yes, blacksmiths still exist. They're the ones that make all those swords and a good bit of the armor you see in movies. It's not a dead art.)

Though what I really wanna do is act. Specifically, I wanna be a voice actor, 'cause with that, I can play more roles than I ever could acting as a live actor. And because it never means having to get up at 4 or 5 in the morning.
I’m really good at
Being able to do a hundred different things and mastering precisely none of them. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none.

Tricking people into thinking I'm cool.

Getting really, really excited over badass action movies.

The first things people usually notice about me
It tends to be that I apparently look like Seth Rogen? I dunno, I don't really see it. But it's a thing, apparently. Either that or my big, loud laugh that ranges anywhere between a deep, guttural guffaw and a high pitched clown screech.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh, geez... Okay... In no particular order, my favourite...
The Godfather by Mario Puzo
Thomas Riley by Nick Valentino
Heir Apparent by Vivian Vande Velde (Yeah, it's kinda kiddy, but dammit, it's a fun read!)
BadAss and BadAss: Birth of a Legend, both by Ben Thompson
Just about anything steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy... I need to find some new books to read. I do enjoy them, I'm just kinda picky.

Pacific Rim
Dredd (I'm a sucker for a good action flick...)
Secret of the Urn (Also a sucker for a good samurai flick)
Porco Rosso
Tai Chi Zero
Sukiyaki Western Django
Death Race 2000
Duck Soup (Oooooh those Marx brothers!)
Star Wars (Preferably IV-VI.)
The Mad Max series (especially Road Warrior and Fury Road. Though I wasn't too fond of anything beyond the Thunderdome in Beyond Thunderdome...)
Kung Fury (it's a damn near perfect movie really, from a certain point of view)
Equilibrium (Yes, I know, judge me if you will, but as I've stated before, I love a good action movie, and honestly I do like it as a dystopian future film for a few different reasons. I'm not saying it's a good movie. I'm just saying I have my reasons for enjoying it.)
Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (One of the more underrated Python films, if you ask me.)
Any good/so-bad-it's-good action movie, good comedies, sci-fi, fantasy, what have you.

All sorts of anime, like...
Rurouni Kenshin
Soul Eater
Outlaw Star
Cowboy Bebop
Gurren Lagann
Lupin the Third
Samurai Champloo
One Piece
Bobobo-Bo Bo-bobo
Fist of the North Star
Mobile Fighter G Gundam (the best Gundam series!)
Samurai 7
Space Dandy (Shinichiro Watanabe doesn't disappoint)
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Pretty much anything involving space, giant robots (preferably action oriented), samurai, and whimsical adventures is okay with me!
There are probably some others, but I can't really think of 'em right now...
As far as non-anime goes...
Parks and Rec
Good Eats (Alton Brown is amazing)
Cutthroat Kitchen (Seriously Alton Brown is amazing)
Iron Chef America (if you can't tell, I like cooking shows)
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
How It's Made
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Game of Thrones (I'm gonna start the books soon...)

Metal. Specifically power metal, Viking metal, pirate metal, and good ol' classic metal. Oh, yes, and epic fantasy metal (Power metal with more power!) Examples include Dio, Korpiklaani, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Alestorm, Turisas, Ensiferum, and more.
Certain kinds of techno and electronic. I'm picky here... Mostly trance and drum & bass. I'm very, VERY picky about my dubstep. Not a huge fan, but there's a tune or two that I can enjoy from time to time. Examples: Pendulum, Netsky, Delta Heavy, Armin Van Buren, Above and Beyond, and more.
Classical is always fun (I'm a classically trained pianist, soooo...) Tchaikovsky and Chopin are my favourite composers.
Jazz. Lee Ritenour is my personal favorite, but I love any good ol' jazz.
Orchestral. Oh, I'm a sucker for good orchestral music. I LOVE the compositions of John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, and a few more.
Little bit of J-Rock. I don't know much, but what I've heard, I like.
SKA. Like, the punk-influenced stuff, like Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, MU330, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, what have you.

Asian cuisine, my favourite being Japanese. (Sushi is my favourite thing ever.)
Thai food is awesome, too.
If you can't tell from my pictures, I'm a person who enjoys food quite a bit.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order...
Good food (and I do mean GOOD food)
My nerdy things (comics, anime, manga, et cetera)
Sushi (It really is probably my favourite thing ever)
The dorks, dweebs, and fellow losers with whom I choose to surround myself.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why in the blue hell nobody in my town knows how to friggin' drive.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sitting around a table with a group of people playing tabletop games and having a drink or two.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can sing "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies almost perfectly.
You should message me if
If you find anything I've said interesting and wanna talk about dorky stuff.

If you're looking for someone to just chill with on the weekends, maybe have a drink and play some video games/tabletop games/card games.

If you want an ass whoopin' in Smash Bros or Mario Kart.
