My self-summary
Originally from Chicago, school in upstate New York, some work in Southern California, and now in for the long haul in Austin. I make a living by making business happen for a giant tech company. I live by always learning, being helpful, and geeky shenanigans.
What I’m doing with my life
Mostly work. Moving across the country for a job or two will do that to you. Work involves travel, though. Disney world, London, and Moscow have all been work in the last year. It's pretty rad!

Current focus is getting settled into Austin. Nothing quite like picking up your life and carrying it half a country over!
I’m really good at
Public speaking! I love to work a crowd, especially while sharing my own experiences. I get a bunch of practice working trade shows and being a regular Toastmaster.
The first things people usually notice about me
Definitely the facial hair or freckles, depending on the status of the facial hair.

Current status: Facial hair.

The six things I could never do without
- Teamwork! I have long been aware that I am not always the best person for a job and that it is vital to depend on your colleagues and those close to you when going after an objective.
- My collection of kilts because I believe everyone deserves the freedom of the skirt.
- Internet Access. Having the shared knowledge of the world on hand is still more useful than people seem to know. It's also the main way I keep in contact with my friends!
- TSA PreCheck. This is especially useful for O'Hare and Orlando airports.
- Global Entry. My record time through LAX customs is 6 minutes from plane to front door!
- Sunglasses - My eyes have never he!d up well in the light of the big fireball in the sky.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Black tea. Do I really need an electric kettle at the office? We have hot water dispensers, but the kettle has an automatic timer specifically for steeping tea...
On a typical Friday night I am
One of the following:
- Planning for a bike or hike over the weekend
- Gaming with (physically) distant friends
- Prepping food for weekly meal batches
- Flying to another city
You should message me if
You have something to geek out about.

You want to play laser tag.

You want a gym buddy.

You want to get tea together.
