My self-summary
I would love to be enthusiastically smitten. Seeking intelligence, confidence and decided sense of humor (teasing and playful banter encouraged). It is time ... and sometimes all it takes is a leap of faith.

While I possess many fine qualities, I have to acknowledge having my share of rough edges. Intelligent and articulate, I will make you laugh. But, while I can be playfully charming and outgoing, I do have my quiet and introspective side. I'd like to think I balance my confidence with a reasonable dose of humility (which when one has lived with 3 daughters, comes with the territory). My youngest, now 24, is out of the house and certainly old enough to look after herself. Seems I need to find a new date for the theater.

I am Intelligent, Articulate, and Irreverent
What I’m doing with my life
Seeking my muse. Looking for balance. Occupationally engaged. And now reaching a point of greater freedom. Always create time for friends, family and live performance (music or theater). Looking to add more time for each along with travel.
I’m really good at
Procrastinating. Verbal expression. Understanding (or at least "getting it" most of the time), Voicing an opinion (and perhaps having an opinion). Making people laugh -- but no stand up routines ...
The first things people usually notice about me
The twinkle in my eye and my mischevious grin?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Way too many of each to decribe here (I'm not sure my memory is that good in any case) But ...

Authors: Steinbeck, Dickens, Michael Chabon, Bradbury, LeGuin, Shakespeare. Titles: Blink, On the Road, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Angela's Ashes, Brave New World, Omnivore's Dilemma, Hitchhiker's Guide, etc, etc

Music: I like it all. Admittedly favor "rootsy" folks like Van Morrison, Delbert McClinton, Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, and James Hunter, (though pop artists like Sting and Steve Winwood certainly get my attention). Live, I listen to a lot of of jazz (though both rock and acoustic music get frequent attention). Miles Davis, Getz and Gilberto, Django, Weather Report, Turtle Island Quartet, Brubeck with Desmond, Latin jazz. I will listen to most musical genres and find something I like

Movies: You've got to be kidding ... The Long Hot Summer (Newman and Woodword but especially Orson Welles), The Godfather, Mean Streets, the first Star Wars was awfully cool, The Lives of Others, Monsoon Wedding, Juno, Amelie, Pulp Fiction, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Slumdog. Pretty much any Marx Brothers (any "Night at" or "Day at" -- Duck Soup), Holiday or Bringing Up Baby (Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn worked well together) The question may be posed ... what movies would you happily watch multiple times?
The six things I could never do without
Friends, Music, laughter, literature, live performance, intellectual stimulation
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What if the Hokey Pokey IS what's it's all about?
On a typical Friday night I am
What's the limitation on Friday? When going out, it will usually be dinner out followed by live music or live theater (with an assortment of movies thrown in for good measure). Performances are best seen in small venues where one doesn't have to contend with long lines, large crowds or bad sight lines.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You'd have to know me much better
You should message me if
Hey, if any of the above resonates, absolutely ...
