My self-summary
FYI - Please don't bother clicking on the "Like" feature. They tell me I have over 50 ladies who have liked me on this site, and I’ll never find out who they are. If you have an interest, please write and tell me something. Share a thought, ask a question and give me something real to respond to. If you're nice enough to actually write to me, I'll always reply back.

Now, where was I?

Okay, from what I've learned so far the secret to a chance of winning a lady's heart these days is an ability to make her laugh, appreciate her kids if she has any, and take her for long walks on the beach or on a trail somewhere. (Not necessarily in that order) It also probably helps if the guy doesn't look like Quasimodo...

Well, unless you are an incredibly hard sell, I'll make you laugh all you want. I seldom have problems with people or children - in fact I probably enjoy kids more than the next guy, especially the little ones. Lastly, if the beach makes you happy, that's fine with me.

On the more serious side, I consider myself as being an upright and honest person, who enjoys the usual things that most men enjoy and many of the things ladies enjoy with men as well. I have a good sense of humor and I try to pay attention to the things that are important. My interests are pretty varied: I enjoy writing, cooking, fishing, most sports, reading and keeping up with what's going on in the world. I am principled and I appreciate the value of friendship. When I'm with a woman I ask questions, I listen and I consider be prepared, there's a lot to talk about!
What I’m doing with my life
I like to think I'm always moving forward. My life hasn't been one continuous line of notable achievements - I've known success as well as disappointment. Nevertheless, I persevere and continue trying to give it my best shot.
I’m really good at
...putting my thoughts into words. A lot of people pay lip service to the value of communication. That's not me, I speak up. When I'm spending time with someone I enjoy, the process usually goes like this: I have a thought on something - and in a moment or two she's hearing about it.

Secondly, Mark Twain wrote, "The difference between the almost right word & the right word is really a large matter--it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning." I couldn't have agreed with him more, and as a result I usually choose my words with some care.
The first things people usually notice about me
...I suppose is that I'm outgoing. It can be just someone on line at ShopRite, a fellow angler I meet at a lake, or a parent and a child with a snazzy hat.... I most often will find something to say that will initiate an exchange. I wouldn't call it a pastime, but it's a lot more fun than always just keeping quiet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I don't read as much as I used to, but Mark Twain never disappointed me and for a while I had read everything John Irving had written. Movies where they're blowing things up every few minutes have never been my cup of tea. I'm more inclined to enjoy movies like Steve Martin's "Roxanne", Bill Murray's "Groundhog Day" and a PBS series from a while back entitled "Anne of Green Gables". (I don't talk about that last one around other guys, so keep it under your hat!) Music: Motown - Smokey and The Temps etc, George Benson, Earl Klugh and James Taylor. Seafood, Italian and pretty much whatever I happen to be making at the moment.
Six things I could never do without
In no particular order.... My 12" cast iron skillet, a well sharpened chef's knife, my kids, my friends and a bright, attractive, clever woman on my arm. Oh, and extra batteries for the cable box remote - I am a guy after all!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...probably everything. Truth be told, there's always something on my mind. I find a lot of different things interesting, and at times my curiosity seems to know no bounds. If you were to ask, "What are you thinking about?", there's no telling what you're likely to hear next!
On a typical Friday night I am
...hopefully doing something that's going to be entertaining. It doesn't have to be a big deal - I seem to get more pleasure out of the small stuff than anyone I know... I just like approaching the weekend with at least the anticipation of enjoying my time with someone.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
At this point in many of our lives, the worst thing to have to deal with for any length of time - is loneliness. Being alone with your thoughts, when you'd much rather be sharing them with someone else and hearing them share their thoughts with you - sucks!
You should message me if
