My self-summary
As a quick heads-up before we dive into this, I am currently in a long-term relationship with my significant other. We're both polyamorous, so if that's not really your thing then you might want to stop reading.

Each and every day is an adventure. My life moves at a fairly high pace, and I'm constantly doing new things and meeting new people. Whether it's urban exploring, camping in the wilderness, or simply going for a run, there's always something happening.

Also, I travel a lot for both work and fun. In the past six months, I've visited San Francisco, Seattle, Boulder, London, Paris, Bangalore, Lima, parts of Germany, and probably some others that I've forgotten. It's been exciting.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently working as a software engineer, doing mobile app development. I find it really interesting, and it makes for fun at parties when people start pitching me their 'million dollar ideas'. Also, I travel around for my job a bit, teaching classes on software development across the country!

Typically, I spend my free time with friends watching movies, playing games, and the like. I'm a huge board game geek, and I also love tabletop gaming.
I’m really good at
My philosophy has always been that if I'm going to do something, then I might as well do it right! So I end up being fairly good at anything that I do often, which means board games, software development, and cooking.

If I were forced into a competition against Death itself, however, I would choose chess, most likely.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the beard. It's a dark brownish-red of typically short well-maintained length. Some say it's creepy, some say it's manly - mixed reviews, I suppose. Such is life.

Lately though, I've been getting way more comments on my rather long hair. Part of me wants to cut it short again, but I really like the 'dude-with-long-hair' look. I think that I pull it off fairly well, and it makes me look like less of a tool when I wear bandanas (which is often).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Here are the categories requested of me:
Books - Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, House of Leaves, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Hunger Games
Movies - Cloud Atlas, How to Train Your Dragon, Donnie Darko, Sunshine, Serenity, Star Trek 2009, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Saving Private Ryan, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Shows - Breaking Bad, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Dexter, Futurama, Archer, The IT Crowd, Lost, Gravity Falls, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, My Little Pony, Game of Thrones
Music - Aerosmith, Air Traffic Controller, The Airborne Toxic Event, Anamanaguchi, The Animals, Baths, Blackmill, Bombazine Black, Cillo, Disasterpeace, The Doors, Dream Theater, Eagles, Explosions in the Sky, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Imagine Dragons, Ingrid Michaelson, Kid Cudi, The Killers, Led Zeppelin, Lily Allen, Lindsey Stirling, Mackelmore, MGMT, Mika, Modest Mouse, Muse, Of Monsters and Men, Passion Pit, Pink Floyd, Ratatat, Regina Spektor, Stepdad, and probably a bunch more. It's an eclectic collection of musical taste, for sure.
Food - Anything, really. I love trying something new and interesting. If I had to pick three though, I'd take bacon, steak, and lobster. I am definitely a carnivore.

I find it kind of odd that there's no games section, so I'll create my own. I enjoy so many of them, ranging from all sorts of board games, tabletop, role-playing, video games, and generally anything at all:
General Games - Chess, Checkers, Dungeons and Dragons (3.0, 3.5, Pathfinder, 4.0), Call of Cthulhu, Settlers of Catan, Agricola, Power Grid, Risk, etc. Any game that requires heavy strategy or role-playing will be right up my alley.
Video Games - Bioshock, The World Ends With You, Castlevania, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, and many more! I prefer the in-depth RPG's with an amazing story and deep setting.
The six things I could never do without
I chose the least sentimental answers possible, because it's no fun otherwise:
1. My computer, I suppose. It's for both work and play.
2. I do enjoy a nice glass of whiskey, now and then.
3. My phone, sadly. She and I have a love-hate relationship.
4. My eclectic music collection.
5. Games. Challenges. Competition.
6. The many pillows that adorn my bed. The fluffier, the better.
Bonus! I always sleep with an electric fan in the vicinity, both for the cool breeze and the background noise. Odd, eh?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Most of my time is spent wondering what I'm going to do with my life. I wonder what comes next. Am I too stagnant? Am I going somewhere? Where do I even want to go with my life? I have a lot of questions and not many answers, but I'm figuring things out as I go - just like everyone else, I suppose.
On a typical Friday night I am
I typically spend the evening with friends, and how we spend our time varies greatly from night to night. Games, adventures, and general frivolity are certainties.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have indeed cosplayed as Arthur Dent. However, my username was not originally intended as an allusion, as I have never read those books. Regardless, I like to think that I played the part quite well.

I typically cosplay a few times a year, usually at Dragon-Con or other conventions, and some of my better costumes include a rugged adventurer, a steampunk gentleman, a crazed cultist, and a 'bro'. If I'm feeling particularly in a role-playing mood, I might even dress up for D&D and other such games.
