These are always a pain because on the one hand, it is hard to sum myself up in a paragraph, while on the other hand this is usually a good spot to put something really funny to show that I am clever. Hmmmmm.......Why don't you imagine the funniest thing you ever heard, then imagine that I said it...........There's plenty more where that came from.
I do know this much about myself. I am one of those "love me or hate me" types. By that I mean, you will either be unable to get enough of me or you will have your fill pretty quickly and spend a good 24 hours thinking of reasons why you can't stand me. That's fine. I'd prefer to be loved (who wouldn't) but as long as I stir up some kind of passion in you I'm fine.
I have a very active imagination, always have. I use to spend most of my school career fantasizing about creating movies and other forms of media. Now I spend most of my time creating movies and other forms of media.
I would consider myself a walking paradox. On the one hand I am considered to be very open and assertive but I sometimes think of myself of rather shy and awkward. I move on from situations fast but I rarely stop thinking about them. I find it hard to see what's wrong in the world even though I have 4 eyes. I love sex but I don't like to spend my time flirting and trying to "hook up". I feel artist should be appreciated but I'm not against illegal downloading. I'm not a religious person but I recognize that it is necessary for some people. I love Dave Chappelle, but I also like Jeff Foxworthy.
BTW, I just noticed that in my personality section I got an icon that says that I am "not loving". Please disregard that. I am very loving. Don't believe me? Meet me and find out.
I'm also good at being late. I'm damn near a master at that.
Maybe they notice that I'm walking like a robot, working on a project in my head (which comes across as talking to myself to the outside world), or just staring off into space.
Book = The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, Why We Can't Wait by Martin Luther King Jr., Hell's Angels by Hunter S. THompson, The Color Purple by Alice Walker, Dark Princess by W.E.B. DuBois, The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and just about anything by Richard Wright
I've been on a little Nigerian literature kick off and on for the past couple years. Right now I'm reading a book of plays by Wole Soyinka. Before him all the Nigerian I'd read was a handful of Chinua Acheba novels; Man of the People and No Longer at Ease. I like them. You can say that they are my more recent favorites. I read Things Fall Apart years ago in school and I really liked that as well.
I also like reading plays by August Willson and Loraine Hansberry. I like plays in general, those two come to mind first when I think of scripts that I enjoy reading.
Movie = Boogie Nights by Paul Thomas Anderson, Fight Club by David Fincher, Crooklyn by Spike Lee, Wendy and Lucy by Kelly Reichardt, there is waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too many to name right now
I'm a documentary junkie. A love that lives both outside and within my love for movies in general. Some of my favorite documentaries are; Crumb by Terry Zwigoff, Lake of Fire by Tony Kaye, When the Levees Broke by Spike Lee, The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters by Seth Gordon. Two of my favorite documentary filmmakers are Nick Bloomfield and Errol Morris. Yes, I like Warren Herzog too. ;)
Music = Innervisions by Stevie Wonder, blue album by Weezer, Black on Both Sides by Mos Def, anything by Outkast, Rock for Light by Bad Brains, again, waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too many to name
Food = anything with either cheese, gravy, or chocolate (but not together)
*I should be more clear with this one. I basically have a wide taste pallet. I like East African, West African, South Indian, North Indian, Thai, Bar food, fast food, my momma's food, her momma's food, your momma's food. I love to eat.
I use to cook professionally (and still kind of do) so I have a lot of experience making a variety of foods. That has put me on a journey of sorts, to eat and learn as many different styles of cooking I can. Not necessarily master them, just be able to make them. I'm pretty good with Indian (spinach saag, curries, etc.) Italian (lasagna, various pastas), Mexican (cantina styled tacos, tamales, etc.) Soul (collard greens, fried catfish, etc.) Thai (various curried noodles).
family, friends, today, tomorrow, now, and later
the day my parents met, the days their parents met, and the days that their parent's parents met.
You are into having chill times, playing video games and looking at art books
You are into having random times drinking at bars that have good happy hour food specials
You've ever been called lame despite being the coolest person you know.
I feel you.
