My self-summary
I am a doctoral psychology student at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. I like to exercise, read, watch TV, hang out with friends, and sometimes just sit outside and enjoy the warm, sunny weather.

I'm a huge nerd/geek/dork. There's really no point in hiding it, it's part of who I am. I love science fiction, fantasy, RPGs, anime, etc. I also write science fiction, fantasy, and horror.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently in graduate school, and working while I apply for a doctoral internship. Although I'm in school for clinical psychology my true passion is creative writing, and I am currently trying to launch a career for myself in that field. I plan to publish a novel within the next few months.

As far as my job goes, I babysit the criminally insane. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration, but I work at an ALF that serves a majority of forensic mental health patients. I've got some interesting stories, believe me.
I’m really good at
passing classes with minimal effort (haha). I like to exercise a lot, both aerobic and weight lifting. I've been told that my creative writing is decent, although I'm hesitant to say that I'm good at it. My readers will have to be the judge of that. Once I have readers, that is :P
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my size, I'm pretty tall and broad-shouldered. That and my stunning good looks ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite novel of all time is The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo. Other than that there's A Song of Ice and Fire (and everything else by George R.R. Martin), everything by H.P. Lovecraft, most of Stephen King's works, The Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch, Otherland and War of the Flowers by Tad Williams, and everything by Caitlin R. Kiernan, a great gothic horror writer who is very underrated. I also like Shakespeare, primarily Richard III, The Tempest, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Julius Caesar. There's lots more, but that's off the top of my head. I'll read any good sci-fi, fantasy, or horror novel.

My favorite TV shows are Game of Thrones, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Big Bang Theory, Community, Arrested Development, The Walking Dead, True Blood, Parks and Rec, and Doctor Who. There's more, but I can't think of them right now. Lexx was also a favorite of mine, although it's pretty out there. Favorite anime includes: Baccano!, Darker than Black, FLCL, Fullmetal Alchemist, Berserk (really wish they had continued the anime), Stein's Gate, Knights of Sidonia (amazing new anime), Deadman Wonderland, and a lot more. I'm an otaku, and I've come to accept that.

I've also recently become a fan of older animation such as Heavy Metal, anything by Rene Leloux (The Savage Planet and Time Masters are my favorites), Aeon Flux (the animation not the godawful movie), etc.

I love metal music, but not death metal or black metal, and I also like rock and alternative. Some of my favorite bands are Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Rush, Green Day, Metallica, AC/DC, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Edguy, Avantasia, Dio (RIP Ronnie James Dio), Rhapsody of Fire, and many more. Chances are that if it's metal, I've heard of it.
Six things I could never do without
My laptop, because I never know where I'm going to want to sit down and write. My Ipad Mini with all my ebooks, because I always need something to read and never go anywhere without it on the off chance that I get stuck somewhere for an extended period of time. My iPod and my iPhone, because...well, just because. Number 5 would be music. Number about conscious and rational thought? I'm always thinking about something, and I could never do without the ability to think.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about many different things at many different times. I think a lot about the nature of the universe and our place in it, and what might exist outside of our tiny little niche in the cosmos. I'm usually also thinking about the latest book I've been reading, the latest story I'm writing, or what the hell I'm going to do after I graduate. I also think about the meaning of life, and how different my parallel-universe selves might be from the way I am now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. I work 24 hours over the weekend at a residential facility for the mentally ill and another 16 during the week. My sleep schedule is usually a bit messed up since I work 2-3 night shifts a week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really like musicals. Most people are surprised by this, but for some reason watching them makes me feel something that other movies or shows just can't quite evoke.
You should message me if
You have similar interests as I do and you'd like to get to know me better. And you don't think all people who like anime, trading card games, and comic books are overweight, unemployed losers who live in their parents' basement.
