My self-summary
I am fundamentally a life-lover and a truth-seeker. I love thinking about all kinds of things all the time.

My main goal is to live forever, because life is just way too enjoyable. I attempt to be systematically rational, because rationality is that which gets you what you want, whether that be life, love, fuzzy kittens, or world domination.

I'm a theorist at heart, and my attempts aim toward understanding the behavior of all systems.
What I’m doing with my life
I've chosen to be a software developer while I save the world on the side.
In 2012 I worked for the Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI). My goal is to help create (safe) Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). I am signed up for cryonics so that in case I die before the Singularity, I might be reanimated.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at discerning truth. This typically expresses itself in having philosophical or scientific discussions that feel amazing. I'm also really good at math. It just seems like my brain is built to love it.

Also I'm really good at typing, drinking milk, solving Rubik's cubes, and getting really excited about dorky things.
The first things people usually notice about me
If you start talking to me, you'll probably notice quickly that I care about what's true, that I'm passionate about truth and life.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality (HPMoR) resonates with me deeply. Besides that, I've sort of forgotten that fiction exists. Wikipedia, textbooks and research papers are usually my reading of choice. I want movies to have deep resounding themes. I could watch The West Wing all day. I listened to exclusively dubstep for a couple years. I'm currently on a Simon & Garfunkel kick. Some other artists I like are MC Frontalot, Daft Punk, Chopin, Billy Joel, Justice, The Sounds, Ratata, AC/DC and Hans Zimmer. And as for food, I'm a bit weird. But I really like chocolate. I am a hummingbird who lives off sucrose.
Six things I could never do without
Parentheses, the Church-Turing thesis, things to figure out, milk, first-order logic, and something in the future.

Actually I guess I could do without parentheses. Prefix notation makes me swoon a little bit.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Philosophy, science, math, myself, ethics, the far future, survival, evolution, particle physics, the brain, how delicious are grapes, frustrating bits of the english language, girls, probability, money, transhumanism . . .

Etymology, writing perfect code, what has been earned, why I think things are beautiful, the deep nature of computation, heros of the past, gender issues . . .
On a typical Friday night I am
Programming, or at an awesome party in the Bay area.
I'm trying to learn swing dancing, so I do that on Wednesday nights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll pretty much tell you anything, as long as you're sincerely interested and engaged.

I'm an MIT student wannabe and read their admissions blog to feed my lust.
You should message me if
you love life deeply.

Also if you know any of the phrases Solomonoff Induction, Minimum Description Length Principle or Kolmogorov Complexity, please message me immediately.
