My self-summary
I'm a serious goofball (oxymoron if you will). Although I do have serious aspirations and choose my friends wisely, I prefer to take the challenges life presents with a grain of salt. My deepest passion lies in blending music and technology, innovating, and generally building cool/fun stuff. Especially stuff related to making electronic music. Oh and I believe there is a perfect outfit for every occasion. Why not wear it (or just go naked!)

Currently I am devoting my life to helping people express themselves freely through the experience of making music with mobile devices.

I sometimes build custom Talkboxes so I can do random public performances of Daft Punk's Harder Better Faster Stronger and my love for Betabrand disco fabric clothing is getting a bit out of hand (no I don't work there, just enjoy their ridiculous threads). Put these things together and what do you get? This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXzPEpn0Fco

Other than following my passion for music technology and people, I enjoy being outdoors, biking, hiking, traveling to far off lands, cooking as well as eating delicious food, and doing pretty much anything with no particular agenda beyond having the most interesting and high quality experience possible (whatever that means). I thoroughly enjoy learning about other cultures and people in general, so I often times will ask more questions about someone than provide information about myself, but you wouldn't know that based on the length of this self-summary. I prefer to gain knowledge of the world through talking to people about their experiences, which means I don't read books very often.

Lastly, I'm an efficiency junky. If something can be optimized, I will be there to help make it so! Of course the length of this profile would prove otherwise.
What I’m doing with my life
Originally from Portland Oregon. Spent 4 years in Miami for undergrad then came out west to Stanford for a Masters in Music Technology after which I began working at Smule. We make mobile music apps! It's the funnest job ever! My day consists of encouraging others to express themselves musically regardless of their previous experience doing so.
Outside of that I like to go on as many adventures as possible and optimize things.
I’m really good at
Using technology to make myself a better musician, driving efficiently, spatial relationships, organizing events, talking with random people, providing encouragement to the people I love, and attempting to find the most efficient solution to most situations.
The first things people usually notice about me
So much life to live. So much love to give
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh man! I love all the musics! 80's Disco-Funk, R&B, Folk, Power Pop, Good Music. Anything that blends real instruments and electronics well and makes me want to dance. For Example: Kimbra, Geographer, Vacationer, Blackstreet, Zapp and Roger, Chromeo, Sucré, Bonobo, Dogg Master, Bon Iver, Jellyfish, Mint Condition, R. Kelly, The Gap Band, Michael Jackson, Musiq Soulchild, Bjork, Haley Bonar, Alison Krauss, Devin the Dude, Andre 3000, Big Boi...and lately I've really been digging the J-Pop producer Yasutaka Nakata who does stuff for Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

He produced this track and the video is just unbelievably adorable:

MOVIES: to be honest watching movies isn't one of my strengths.
I do like Groundhog Day (the greatest love story of all time), Anything with Arnold Schwarzenegger (GET TO DA CHOPPAAAAA!!!), The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Forest Gump, Death Race 2000 (the original), Willow, Royal Tennenbaums

SHOWS: also don't watch much TV (always room for improvement!)
I do like Star Trek (TOS mostly but i very much appreciate them all), Arrested Development, GoT, Things on the Internet

Right now I'm vaguely following the Paleo thing (startup + guy == paleo) since it's all the rage and no one has any solid evidence one way or the other. I am actually learning a lot about food lately and have become a big fan of making my own meals.
When I don't eat only Meat, Veggies, and fruit I prefer the very occasional Chicken And Waffles, Fried Bananas, and almost all Asian Cuisine (I particularly enjoy Bibimbap, Ramen, HotPot (Little Sheep or at home), and anything my Vietnamese friend's mother makes. (she always makes ridiculously good stuff).

BOOKS: another of my less frequent activities.
"The History of Death: Burial customs and funeral rites, from the ancient world to modern times" (Quite an interesting read. Amazing what you can find out about a culture by the way it treats death)
Six things I could never do without
Epic landscapes
Head, Shoulders, knees and toes (knees and toes, knees and...)
Bike lanes
Lists about things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Being positive and conscious
How to make each situation more entertaining
Optimizing everything (part of the pro-efficiency movement)
Advancing my skill-set
Bicycling around Australia

If OK Cupid is really a worthwhile endeavor. sigh....
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing something. This "something" could range from going to sleep early to staying up all night
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Genetically I'm of European decent. German, British Isles, and probably Spanish way back.
I lied about one of the things in the "My details" section.
Fun fact though: I've played bagpipes since age 9
You should message me if
You want to hang out with a genuine, passionate, and inventive person who:
Doesn't mind buying or cooking dinner, likes to go on adventures of all kinds, is creative and expressive, loves making and listening to music, and enjoys a deep conversation as much as talking complete nonsense (Did I mention I enjoy bullshitting?).
Oh also, an appreciation of physical fitness and general interest in maintaining a healthy mind/body/spirit is a must.

You want to go on a bike ride and eat somewhere new or attempt to cook a delicious dish.

Let's have fun!
