My self-summary
To mention something, if you give me a "like", I won't know who you are. Feel free to say hi and maybe throw a hint in that you have read a paragraph or two. Does anyone actually read profiles?

A simple way to tell you a fair amount about me is that I've been called a Renaissance man more than a few times. My motto is treat others as you wish to be treated.

I promised myself years ago that I will never lose - I guess you could call it a child like playfulness. I once had a great time being silly on a vacation in Cozumel. Every day I would play peek a boo with a lobster I named Marvin. I'm not sure which one of us had more fun - he would repeatedly very slowly walk out of his cave, carefully peer / peek around the corner, then suddenly jump straight up in the water when he saw me, and scurry back inside, reminding me of Charlie Chaplin as he quickly scampered, and I still swear he was smiling. Once, I went around the other side of his cave and he kept going further and further out to try to see me, looking in the wrong direction as I followed him from behind. I think he let out an aaaahhhhh when he finally noticed me right behind him. Wish it could have been filmed, but at least it is a priceless memory.
What I’m doing with my life
Thinking positive thoughts while crossing my fingers in cyberspace between breaks of attempting to make copious quantities of lemonade. A new contact lens scratching my eye cost me the airline pilot career I worked so hard to achieve and so enjoyed.
I’m really good at
Home improvement / fixing things / making things.
Weighing factors and making the best decision.
Giving massages and having deep two way conversations.
Quick wit. I love seeing delayed reactions!
Coming up with outside the box solutions.
Having empathy and helping others.
The first things people usually notice about me
My deep voice, politeness, good grammar, blue eyes, and white teeth. For some reason, both men and women like to pat me on the back, shoulders, and chest. I'm not quite sure why they feel compelled to do this. Maybe I look like I make a good sound when patted? Yes, you have permission, ha ha.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Recently read Don't Know Much About History. Refreshing as there is no sugar coating about the Hitler like genocidal goals of our countries founding fathers. Some awful human beings! Have you ever read The Secret? I won't tell. It would be great if what it says is even halfway true! The book Second Chance - wow, what a concept! Journey of Souls is quite the interesting book. I'm becoming more interested in meditation. Do you have any pointers? No, no, no, I don't mean things like stop rambling on, buddy!

I really enjoy movies! Favorites: Shawshank Redemption, What Dreams May Come, Frequency, Meet Joe Black, Green Card, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Somewhere in Time, The Natural, Love Actually, About a Boy, Goodwill Hunting, the Bourne series, Office Space, Groundhog Day, Forest Gump, Serendipity, What About Bob, Stuck on You, The Truman Show, Dumb and Dumber, Bedazzled. Lately, I've been watching more independent, low budget films on streaming Netflix, and am really enjoying them. So refreshingly simple, yet powerful.

TV: Criminal Minds, The Big Bang Theory, do it yourself shows. The Twilight Zone.

Favorite foods: Most are ethnic types. Ethiopian, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Nepalese, Italian.

I love music! I need my music! It makes the bad times not so bad, and the good times even better! Spanish / Mediterranean acoustic guitar is my favorite. For online and radio, I tend to listen to alternative - the Current (89.3), classical, and world (Pandora). I do enjoy a wide variety of music, and seem to have an affinity for one hit wonders, usually from the 80's and sometimes the 90's. Ever listen to Reggae trance music?
Six things I could never do without
Soft sheets.
Cuddling. Well, I guess I am doing okay without it.
Tea - iced, green, sweet, lemonade, and raspberry.
My two boys, Frank and Vince (cats). They are always in a good mood...quite different from others you may have charming. I am also a dog lover, but my wonderful Thor is long gone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Philosophical questions such as what is the meaning of life? What happens to our consciousness after we die? Is this life merely a single chapter in our book of existence? Not a lot of time on it, but will I come back as a leech if we come back, and will I realize I'm a leech and creep myself out?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wink at myself in the mirror once in a while. Shh, don't tell anyone.
You should message me if
You also wink at yourself in the mirror on occasion (or maybe for some strange reason, suddenly decided to try it: go ahead). Hopefully, you have a few or more of the following traits: You have a twinkle in your eye. You are sincere, nice with spice, and don't play non-entertaining games. You are not persnickety. You know when to use their and they're (such a thing is not persnickety). You have compassion for your fellow residents on Earth, both human and animal. You realize that while life alone can be good, it is better with the right person. You don't mind being thought of and treated as an equal. Sweetness, giggles, and unexpected snorts are all welcome. Trump fans need not apply (sorry, it's a morals thing - I'm not self-centered, don't worship money, and would no longer be able to wink at myself in the mirror). Preference for animal lovers who prefer them living over dead and on their plate, or if you have been considering it. Sorry, but I have never had a desire to have kids. Message if after reading this chapter (good thing I shortened it), you are still with me, and hear a little voice saying I wonder or what if? Wait a second, how often do you hear voices in your head?
