My self-summary
I have always loved the outdoors. Camping, hiking, slack-lining, rock-climbing, backpacking you name it! My job allows me to be out in nature a lot which is one of the reasons I love it. I love being active and I don't mind getting my hands dirty; I actually really like playing in the dirt, which is probably why I love my job so much!

I've also always loved creating things. Painting, drawing, crocheting or anything where I can make something interesting out of something boring. I haven't been able to crochet or paint as much as I'd like lately, but I still 'binge' craft on occasion.

Music is a big part of my life. I've sung in a choir of some sort since I was in 1st grade. I've never been the best singer in the choir but its just something I've always loved and been passionate about.

I am a naturally quiet person and somewhat shy until I get to know people better. I've been trying to break out of my shell more the past few years and have been fairly successful, but it's still something I'm working on. I am intensely loyal to my friends and family. I have never been the kind of person to have a ton of friends, but the ones I do have are people I expect to stay friends with for my entire life, through thick and thin.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working full time as a field biologist. I do a lot of pre-construction surveys which basically means I hike in the desert looking for rare plants and animals pretty frequently.
I’m really good at
Making up harmonies to random songs on the radio, crocheting, being open-minded.
The first things people usually notice about me
Not really sure. Probably my long hair and that I'm a little shy at first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
How can you pick a favorite book? That's like being forced to pick a best friend. I love science fiction and fantasy, so Lord of the Rings, Enders Game, Shadow of the Wind, The Name of the Wind, The Time Travelers Wife, and of course Harry Potter are just a very few of the ones that pop in mind right off the bat.

As for movies, again I really like science fiction/fantasy, action movies, and comedy's. I also like the suspenseful thrillers as long as they don't have too much blood and guts. I'm really not too picky about movies.

Music. I have to say that I love classical music. I grew up listening to it as a kid, sang it in choir, and learned to love it. Singing has always been a big part of my life, so really I like any music that has a tune I can hum or sing along with. I don't like rap or screamo much at all though, but pretty much anything else is fine. I've recently been introduced to Country and was surprised to find that I actually like a some of the songs.

Movie soundtracks are amazing! Hans Zimmer or Howard Shore anyone???
Six things I could never do without
Music of some sort
A good book (or several)
Family and good friends
My dogs
The outdoors
Both hiking boots and dancing shoes
On a typical Friday night I am
Out dancing! Blues, swing and ballroom are my go-to's!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't really like the taste of alcohol, but I'll try anything once as long as you don't laugh too hard at the puckered face I make after :)
