My self-summary
I'm an even-keeled person. I try not to let the little things get to me and stay very level-headed when things don't go exactly as planned. I don't panic when the car breaks down 300 miles from home; my reaction to any sort of adversity is almost always cold and logical.

I think that communicating with other people is one of the most difficult things to do and something I try to improve at it all the time. One of the small things I have been trying to improve is keeping the small commitments to visit or call people that get made all the time in normal conversation. When I started paying attention I was rather surprised at the amount of times I would say something like, "I'll call you later" or, "I'll swing by after work" but that I would never actually do. I can't say I am 100% cured of making those kind of statements, but I have definitely improved.

All in all I tend to be very critical of myself and genuinely do try and improve everything I do.

I work in IT and enjoy my job. It has been very mentally stimulating which had an interesting effect on my time outside of work. I used to read voraciously and now tend to spend more time with physical activities or just unwinding with a good show or movie.

I have a lot of hobbies that keep me busy; I work on cars and mess with computers all the time. I read and play video games a bit as well. I really like taking road-trips and going camping and would love someone that would go with me!
What I’m doing with my life
Working and generally keeping busy with family and friends. Winter slows things down, but I enjoy working on a car or riding a motorcycle when I have the time and weather permits.
I’m really good at
Fixing things.

If it can be dis-assembled I can probably figure out why it doesn't work. If you need to push buttons in a certain order to make it stop blinking "12:00" I can make it happen!
The first things people usually notice about me
The shaved dome.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin, Terry Goodkind, Neal Stephenson, Heinlein, and David Gemmel are among my favorites. I like Fantasy/Sci-Fi primarily, but survival horror stuff has been keeping me occupied lately.

I like a lot of movies; westerns and action flicks when I want to relax. I am a big fan of Indie stuff, psychological thrillers, foreign films, etc when I want to be thoroughly entertained. I'll watch pretty much anything (even rom-com's!) and will usually enjoy it. The Fifth Element is probably my favorite movie; followed closely by Open Range, Zombieland, Snatch, and Sylvester Stallone's latest 3 films.

The only "TV" I watch is what Netflix has streaming, and then it is usually consumed in large doses over short periods of time. According to my Netflix history I have watched a lot of South Park recently, with Lie To Me, Eureka, Top Gear, The IT Crowd, Lost, and Invader Zim mixed in.

I mainly listen to Rock; favorite bands include Metallica, Led Zepplin, Shinedown, and Jimi Hendrix.

I will eat pretty much anything. Mexican, Sushi, Pizza, and Meatloaf are at the top of my list. Not a fan of Mushrooms or Baked Beans, but I'll eat them instead of removing them from whatever they may be in/on.
Six things I could never do without
I am pretty adaptable and don't think there is much that would really devastate me to lose (minus family and friends of course) but in the spirit of the question:

A Computer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Road-trips I want to take.

Work. Football.

Adirondack chairs.
On a typical Friday night I am
In the garage working on something, or maybe out with friends. Possibly relaxing with a beer in front of the TV after a particularly stressful week. It is also entirely possible that I got side-tracked by some random thing on the internet and spend the next 8 hours reading about some person's awesome trip across Africa or a ridiculous build-up of an AE86.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really don't have any secrets... um, I trim my eyebrows and nose hair regularly.
You should message me if
You think we have similar interests. You don't mind someone who has a somewhat old-fashioned view and will open doors for you and really does prefer to drive but wouldn't mind letting you if it really means a lot.
