I enjoy running and exercise and the relaxation and calmness that comes from heavily exerting myself. I would love to meet someone with whom I can enjoy runs along the Embarcadero, Chrissy Field, etc, but it's not required by any means.
I love thinking about stuff and being curious, like how AMAZING it is that we're all on a rock hurtling through space at 150km/sec or whatever it is and we're totally and completely dependent on the sun and if it ever just decided to get up and walk away we'd all be screwed. I mean, I know that's not going to happen because Newton said so, but still. Or how light propagates away from anything with mass at the speed of light, no matter how fast that piece of matter is moving. I mean, what? Stuff is amazing.
I play guitar now. Old habits are hard to break, so I usually end up practicing my major and minor scales. That and dream theater songs. I love Dream Theater; it's an important thing to know about me.
I drive for Lyft occasionally, too. It totally fits my personality. I like to ham with people and just learn about them, and drive all over this beautiful, vibrant city. We talk about how cool growing up in the 80's and 90's was. Sometimes we rock the journey if its late and they're drunk and happy. It's awesome.
I get passionate, enthusiastic, and energized by the things I enjoy, like bodywork, playing music and running, and it's not uncommon for me to jump up and down about how awesome something is. But if you've been reading you've figured that out by now.
Oh, and I love college basketball - Go Hoosiers!!!
Music: Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation, Third Eye Blind, John Mayer, Coldplay, Rob Thomas and Matchbox Twenty, singer/song writer type stuff. No rap or pop generally. Although I'll have a listen if it's catchy. Some classical.
I rarely watch TV, unless it's sports, although I've been known to be dragged into watching the bachelor. Those great long shows like The Wire, Six Feet Under, Dexter, MadMen, etc. they blow movies out of the water.
Reading materials: Textbooks at the moment and for the foreseeable future. Self improvement books like 7 habits, leadership books, guitar tab books, newspapers, Economist and the Atlantic.
Indoor plumbing, BY A MILE.
Running shoes and a foam roller.
You're a kind, easy going type. We'd get along swimmingly if you are.
You don't get super ramped up about stuff like politics or whether someone on the freeway cut you off.
You don't mind that I'm allergic to cats (it's not my fault, it's my stupid IgEs and mast cells, sorry)
You'd like to check out some of the SF Chronicle's bargain bites that just came out.
You consider strangers to be simply friends you haven't met yet, and prefer to have initial conversations that consist of declarations of perspective and opinion, rather than question/answer sessions.
