My self-summary
I’m a naturalized Manhattanite who still retains the odd southern quirk --such as being polite; calling people “ma’am” and “suh”; and doggedly clinging to the implicit belief that tater tots are indeed a vegetable...

Smart, funny, (humble). Chill about the day-to-day but can get easily fired up over social injustice, whack-doodle politics, and people who insist on coming to a dead stop at the top of escalators.

When I’m not making the world safe from Groupon ads, I’m watching far too many movies, eating far too few vegetables, and recalling just enough conversational Japanese to ask the time or comment on how tasty the bean curd buns are this morning (though not much more than that, I’m afraid).

Looking for a sidekick. Someone to do everything and nothing with. A best friend I’m just aching to kiss...
What I’m doing with my life
Advertising keeps the wolves from the door. Figuring out the rest one tick at a time.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh. Not taking myself all that seriously while still knowing what matters in life. Oh, and long division. I’m not too shabby at long division...
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, my sense of humor, my prehensile tail.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Ever-shifting, but to be both and random and specific:

MUSIC: My ipod runneth over with all manner of tune-atude. Depeche, Dolly, Bacharach, Patsy, Conchords, Madge, Sting, Annie, Bowie, Tina, Williams, Goldsmith, Barry, Motown, New Wave, Hip-Hop, R&B, Gregorian Chant Speed Metal Dance Remixes (just seeing if you’re paying attention with that last one).

FILM: Star Wars, Casablanca, Now Voyager, The Philadelphia Story, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Pirates of the Caribbean --the ride and the film, The Haunted Mansion --the ride, definitely not the film. Dune, Flash Gordon, Alien, Lord of the Rings, Godzilla, 007, Hammer horror, Blacksploitation, Miyazaki anime, Hitchcock suspense. Hmm, maybe it would be simpler to list films I don’t like...

BOOKS: To Kill a Mockingbird, Watership Down, The Wind-up Bird Chronicle, Pride and Prejudice, The Wizard of Oz, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Jem, Giant Days, Harrow County

TV: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Great British Bake-Off, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Face Off, Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, Supergirl, Star Wars Rebels, The Beat Down

ONLINE: scarygoround, plaidstallions, HuffPo, dvdbeaver (not what you think)

FOOD: Indian, Italian, Western burger at Black Shack, those chalky little mints by the register in Greek diners...
The six things I could never do without
Well, a lack of opposable thumbs would be a bother. That’s two...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The nape of Michael Fassbender’s neck.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not much of a nightcrawler, but can kick off the weekend through dinner with friends; catching an on/off-Broadway show; munching popcorn at the Film Forum; or any other manner of urban distraction that sparks the grey matter. Naps are good, too...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm an orphaned child of Krypton. Don't tell any of my co-workers, I might lose my byline at The Planet.
You should message me if
My musings made you laugh. (In a good way)
