But you know, I'll give it a shot.
I love getting together with friends, and trying to make each other laugh, telling our best stories. I don't get to do that nearly as often as I'd like. I like wit. Humor in all it's forms, except scatological- and those stupid dirty jokes that aren't really that funny, and always end in sexual humiliation or permanent injury.
Or both. On the other hand, a smart, funny dirty joke is great.
My OK Cupid personality analysis claims I'm "Highly Organized".
There's some truth to that, but it doesn't come naturally. It's more like self- defense. Otherwise I'd probably be wandering aimlessly. Kind of like what I'm doing in this profile.
I love to learn new things. I love science, especially Physics and Astronomy, but I have no formal education in the fields.
Psychics and astrology are unimpressive.
I like to cook, but my repertoire is too limited- trying to learn new stuff.
I like a good single malt Scotch.
I like movies, live music, plays, museums, wine tastings, restaurants, festivals, stand- up comedy, etc. Sports bars are OK when they have a band. Otherwise, meh. (Although, best sports bar name ever: Lions, Tigers, & Beers.)
I like to bike. As in bicycle, not Harley. I try to keep fit, and I'm not as fit as I'd like. I've got a couple of medical issues that sometimes slow me down, but I don't stop.
I listen to NPR a lot. Driving home after a four hour gig, I often don't want to listen to music. This American Life, Radiolab, Wait Wait Don't tell me, Car Talk, and so on. Podcasts, because of the work.
I'm a mostly self-taught musician. I've been playing music professionally since I was sixteen. It's not my main source of income, but it helps. Helps my sanity, too. I'm incredibly fortunate to work with great, smart people in both my jobs.
I love tech. Gadgets are good. I don't understand the people who won't use a computer or a smart phone.
Wow, I really kind of rambled on there. Hope it's helpful.
It's always possible that they're wrong about the funny.
I liked the movie Lincoln, the Star Trek reboot is better than it has any right to be. Comedies that aren't primarily about fraternities or personal injury.
Books: Robert Parker, Jared Diamond, Carl Sagan, and my guilty pleasure is detective novels.
I don't get to watch much current TV, I'm usually binging with "On Demand" when I find a show I like. so, not in any particular order: NCIS, Justified, Suits, Mentalist, Big Bang Theory, Vegas, Monk, Mythbusters. (Love snarky well- written sitcoms.) No "Reality TV". I'm peripherally involved in the business, and believe me, it ain't "real".
