My self-summary
hmmmm...nice guy, smart guy, fun guy, - I have just enough online dating experience to know and use the ropes, but not so much as to be totally jaded or discouraged....There are no doubt some amazing people on OKCupid, I'm still trying to figure out the key to success!

now let's try for an injection of humor:

Man walks down the street, passes a deli, BIG sign in the window: Fresh Bread $2.00; Ham Sandwich $5.00; Hand Job $10.00...

have you heard it?

I am surefooted, absorbing, and sensitive
What I’m doing with my life
I continue to explore myself and the world around me. I love learning new things, and a spark of something new and exciting can send me on a completely unexpected new adventure.

I've been fortunate to have travelled to some great places on this planet, yet there are so many more ahead. I do tend to migrate toward civilized v less-than civilized spots. Right now Australia, Hong Kong, and Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Czech) are on my radar. Samantha Brown and Anthony Bourdain have me sold on Singapore. But there's never anything wrong with a few days at the beach, or a couple of days in Vegas with a good meal (or two) and a good show (or two).

I live in Austin at present but don't think I will be here too much longer. Vancouver seems one possibility, or the Bay Area, maybe Berkeley.
I’m really good at
having answers to tough questions; or I'll find the answer, if it kills me :) (so far I've survived!)
The first things people usually notice about me
My confidence. It can be intimidating and I hate that...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything by A.M. Homes or Michael Lewis (or maybe Malcolm Gladwell for that matter).

Topsy Turvy and Tampopo, Super Troopers, Shawshank, anything by Patrice Leconte. Kieslowski Trilogy. Spaghetti westerns. Everything by Mike Leigh. Zombieland.

Ultimate Muscle Roller Legend, and Detective Mittens are shiny things to me. I try to stay relatively techie through blogs and genl online exploring:P I divested myself from TV/cable so my media based content comes fr the web in all shapes and sizes. I can binge TV shows w the best of them: Episodes is great and underappreciated. Mad Men (sure), and Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards is ok, and Orange Is The New Black has definitely lived up to all the hype....

Chris Cornell....I go for vocalists with strong voices whether its Al Green, George Jones of Taylor Dayne...Gregg Allman is pretty damn good too. I always thought Daryl Hall was just 1/2 of some 80s thing until I realized he has a top 5 voice. Someone has put me onto the new LCD Soundsystem, but so far I'm not hearing it. I do like Metric: Fantasies a whole lot; Silversun Pickups, The Arcade Fire. Yeah I listen to Lily Allen, but I'm not telling anyone.

Anything one can shove in ones mouth pretty much:) except beets...NO BEETS!.....(update: and I try hard not to eat my friends the animals :) that hypocrisy was killing me after all this time. I'm finding this new pallet of tastes a very pleasant and exciting change)
Six things I could never do without
Flipboard, pet(s), a new challenge, fresh sheets, time honored tradition, chivalry
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why it wasn't until too late that I discovered how cool Ruud van Nistelrooy was. And if I put a hit out on Michael Bay, would a jury of my peers convict me?
On a typical Friday night I am
washing the dog.... or doing the dog's laundry...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
well, I'm not here expecting romance, but won't run if it finds me.
You should message me if
You have a message from me in your INBOX and reading it has increased your heartrate....or you're fun....or you like to read...or you're cool...or you can recommend great veggie dishes for me to try...
