My self-summary
I've been in New York just over two years now, at least 1 more to go. I'm here primarily for grad school, and would much rather be someplace that isn't the COLDEST PLACE EVER. But ah well. While I'd still rather be off frivolously dashing from place to place, and not sticking in one for more than a month...I suppose it is starting to grow on me. Enough, anyway. This thing used to be longer, and now that I'm rewriting it I feel like I should keep it the same length...but, meh, past me was clearly being an overachiever with this thing.
What I’m doing with my life
School/internship takes up the majority of my time, it seems like. Or at least half, anyway. Otherwise, I like to keep busy(or else all my thoughts start to creep in)- poi, juggling, reading, and slacklining are some go-tos while stuck here in the city, weather dependent. Last year I started trying to teach myself stone carving and am pretty into it, thus everything in my room is covered in an exceedingly fine patina of alabaster dust. I'm a giant sissy when it comes to the cold weather, and will use the least excuse to barricade myself indoors avoiding it.
I’m really good at
Gravitating into the travel and geography sections of bookstores/libraries, and torturing myself. And maybe cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm probably doing, or professing my love for, something odd.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Sparrow, Engines of Light, A Song of Ice and Fire(game of thrones), Old Man's War, Heinlein, The Dark Tower, Robin Hobb, Dune, PK Dick, many, many, and maybe a few more many's more. I read pretty indiscriminately, though you can probably tell I have a preference for fantasy and _some_ sci-fi

Movies: 500 Days of Summer, Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Lost Boys, City of God, Willow, The Departed, Inception, Young Guns, Icecream Man, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Point Break, loads of others. Though I haven't gotten a chance to see many recents I hopefully will change that

Shows: Game of Thrones, True Blood, Dexter, Walking Dead, Always Sunny

Music: Breakbeats(Deekline, Keith Mackenzie, Zach Moore, etc), Old Crow Medicine Show, The Lumineers, Neon Trees, Lily Allen, Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, , Empire of the Sun, The Lawrence Arms, Alkaline Trio, Flogging Molly, Fat Freddy's drop, High Contrast
Six things I could never do without
1. Kindle and accompanying "liberated" book files
2. Conversation and new people. Seriously, I once spent a solid 33 days sailing and couldn't speak to anyone new, I swear I almost went crazy.
3. Something to keep my hands busy
4. Bright colors
5. Facebook. Judge me as you will, but it's my primary method of communication with many of my friends.
6. Aforementioned friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If both my room and body will ever be completely glitter free. I've realized they won't.
On a typical Friday night I am
Almost certainly not sleeping. At least every few weeks there is a pretty good chance you'll find me dancing most of the night in some kind of costume, or something close enough to a costume that I get funny looks waiting for the train at the end of the night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I got bored and covered my walls in painted vegetation and dragonflies, in rainbow glitter technicolor. But then when it was time to move, I had to paint it all over with so many many layers of white. Granted, this isn't very private, but i also don't really have a concept of privacy either, so whatever you want to know is fair game.
You should message me if
You have even an inkling of a desire to do so! I'm easy to talk to. I'm not really interested in a monogamous commitment- that doesn't mean things have to only be excessively casual, it's just to say that if things move in a less casual direction, that direction will be a poly/non-monogamous one.

Also if you can somehow goad me into stretching and or yoga more often. I just...can't. But I went to a tumbling class and almost died of inflexibility. So I am going to need to fix that.
ALSO Also- if you want to get a game of (drunken)Cranium going. I can never get more than 1 or 2 people interested.
