My self-summary
I recently moved back to the Tucson area from Chicago in October. I miss the big city a lot but it is nice to be home. I didn't realize how much I missed the desert and mountains until I was back. Something about the landscape here speaks to me in a really powerful way.

My masters is essentially done. I am waiting for them to give me my paper in May. Here is hoping that they won't be lame and make me wait beyond that.

I am not going to lie I really love God and the Church. That said I find it sad that many people have had bad experiences with organized religion. There is a great beauty in connecting with the divine through religion that cannot be equaled. However it really makes me mad when people use faith as a lense for bigotry. If your actions towards others has even the smallest hint of judgement it doesn't belong in an authentic practice of faith.

On a more amusing note (after that serious little bit above it seamed reasonable) my movie collection seems to always be growing. I blame getting in my vehicle to go somewhere, forgetting where that is, and winding up at Bookmans.
What I’m doing with my life
I am trying to love others though my daily interactions in the world.
I’m really good at
Making timely comments and tasty tasty food. I also do quite well with public speaking and dealing with children.
The first things people usually notice about me
People tell me that I smell nice?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For a very optimistic person I really find myself drawn to works of dystopian fiction.
Books: On the Incarnation, Fire and Ice, Harry Potter, The Bible. Anything by Herbert, Tolkien, Anaya, Bradbury. I also have a fair amount of Star Wars books.
Movies: The Royal Tenenbaums, Dark City, The Big Lebowski, The Warriors (can you dig it?)
Music: Beck, Cake, David Bowie, and Ozomatli. Billie Holiday gets me every time.
Food: I love all kinds of things. I am a little partial to Mexican. Ethiopian is amazing. I have been on a big Sushi kick lately. I'm willing to try anything a few times.
Six things I could never do without
1) My faith
2) Intelligent Conversation
3) Family and friends
4) Books (Literate people make the best friends)
5) The Great Outdoors
6) Well prepared food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What is on the horizon, where I will be in the next few years.

Whether apes will be our masters.

Fortifications for a zombie apocalypse
On a typical Friday night I am
Out somewhere with good folk, probably doing something that is a little bit stupid.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I thought that I was missing social cues for the first six months that I lived in the Midwest. Then I realized that the people were just that nice.
You should message me if
You feel so inclined. I enjoy talking to new folk.

You think that bow ties are cool.
