My self-summary
I really enjoy the noun form of adjectives ending in 'ous' that end in 'ity', vacuity or veracity for example. Conversely, I hate when these nouns simply add 'ness' like contentiousness. I only recently found out that there is no word 'mellifluity'. It saddened me.

That about sums me up.
What I’m doing with my life
***Working on a project in Brazil until November, feel free to message, but it is uh, pretty far from New York. Let me know if you want to meet in some halfway point...Belize perhaps?****

I live in Brooklyn and work and Manhattan. Working in Emergency Operations at the UN and getting my Master's at NYU in Public Policy.

I ride my bike. I go to the movies a lot. I play a lot of board games. I feel like by now you realize I'm astonishingly cool.
I’m really good at

Recitation of GZA lyrics

Reading while standing up on the subway
The first things people usually notice about me
My beard (perhaps this is wishful thinking)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
In terms of books, I love dystopian literature such as We by Evgeny Zamyatin, 1984, Bend Sinister, and a Clockwork Orange. I also love Atwood, Le Guin, Virginia Woolf, Walker Percy, James Joyce, William Faulkner, Franz Kafka, Fyodor Dostoevsky, James Baldwin, Vladimir Nabokov, Toni Morrison, Viktor Pelevin David Foster Wallace and Joan Didion.

I'm a big fan of international cinema, and I love Japanese, German and American new wave in particular. Some of my favorite directors are Stanley Kubrick, Claire Denis, Andrei Tarkovsky, Shohei Immamura, Lynn Ramsey, Michelangelo Antonini, Werner Herzog, Terrence Malick, Lars Von Trier, Agnes Varda, Volker Schlondorff, Alain Resnais, Wim Wenders, John Schlesinger, Robert Altman, Lodge Kerrigan and Yasujiro Ozu. Also love trash movies, the trashier the better. Russ Meyer, sleazy horror, Tommy Wiseau. Pretty much anything.

TV shows: Could be recency bias but I'm fairly certain Rick and Morty is the best show of all time.

Six things I could never do without
Headphones, good friends, the news, independent theaters, the occasional libation (wink), Liquid Swords.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-The formation of political pluralism after the fall of the Soviet Union,
-The Wu-Tang Clan
-Emergency coordination between governments and NGOs in crisis scenarios (more of a professional curiosity)
-If you care so much about grammar then why don't you comprehend its descriptive nature?
-Would things have gone differently under Trotsky?
-Competing definitions of spirituality and their value.
-Is the attempt to conceive of 'universal human rights' useful?
-Ugh fuck, why am I doing this again? (probably my single most common thought)
On a typical Friday night I am
Blah blah blah sometimes staying in, blah blah blah sometimes going out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like plain bread products, like bagels without cream cheese. I've only recently realized what a social pariah this has made me, so if this is a dealbreaker I... I understand.
You should message me if
You feel the urge.

You want to explain rudimentary concepts in physics to me.

You are a religious person or someone who engages in some kind of serious spiritual practice. I just enjoy hearing varied perspectives on this subject.

You enjoy Nicolas Cage ~~Non-ironically~~

You want to discuss which NY Times Editorial Writer is the worst.

You like going to the movies for a first date.

You are not racist (I've learned the hard way that this one needs to be made).

I don't lend any credence to match percentage. Whenever I look into the questions of people that are a >90% match it's basically just people with highly permissive/progressive social attitudes, which is fine but doesn't speak to romantic compatibility.
