My self-summary
NFL team owner. World Record holder. Private island owner. Former model. All of these things are true, none of these things are as impressive in reality as they sound. Or maybe they are and I'm just modest - guess you'll have to find out.

I played lacrosse in college, play in a couple softball and football leagues now, love watching football and hockey, and am a pretty regular gym attendee. But I'm also a nerd who loves Doctor Who, all things Joss Whedon, and owns altogether too many video games and books. I love going to live music, comedy, sporting events, movies, and going out with friends, but I'm also happy spending a night sitting on the couch with a good book, playing a random board game, or just relaxing and watching TV. I love to cook, especially for other people, but also really like going out and discovering new restaurants.

My job keeps me pretty tied up, but while it monopolizes more of my time than I like, I don't think it's a defining characteristic, it's just something I do. I've got a good sense of humor and am told I'm a funny guy. I do have a bit of a cynical and sarcastic streak, but I try to keep it under control.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a lawyer (don't worry, not the evil kind).
I’m really good at
Communicating. Most of my life, professionally and socially, is about talking and listening. I love discussing (and maybe over discussing) topics of a wide variety, both big important stuff and pointless nonsense. As a consequence of being a good listener, I'm usually the first person my friends go to for advice, and am pretty good at counseling them. In terms of practical skills, I'm a very good cook, and have a great memory for trivia and useless information. I'm also really good at thinking up really horrible answers in Cards Against Humanity.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book (I'm going with series, since individual books is too hard, I have multiple overwhelmed bookshelves) - The Desden Files by Jim Butcher, The Amber series by Roger Zelazny, The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams, and the Kingkiller Trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss. Non-series books include American Gods by Neil Gaimen, Good Omens by Gaimen and Pratchett, Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, and The Brothers' War by Jeff Grubb.

Movies (ask me another day and this list might change, I'm kinda a movie junkie) - The Social Network, Wreck-It Ralph, Cabin in the Woods, Guardians of the Galaxy, Die Hard, Thirteen Days, Princess Bride, Blazing Saddles, The Avengers, Fight Club, The American President, Tin Cup, the Matrix, Moneyball.

Shows - Anything by Aaron Sorkin or Joss Whedon, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Futurama, Top Gear (the real one), Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Archer, Flash, Arrow, Get Smart (yes, the old show from the 60s), Torchwood, White Collar, Castle, Agents of Shield, Once Upon a Time, South Park. I also have an irrational affinity for "cool old stuff" reality shows (Pawn Stars, American Restoration, etc), cooking competition shows, and trivia shows (Jeopardy, Pawnography, that sort of thing). I also have a keen hatred for celebrity/wannabe celebrity reality shows.

Music - I listen to a pretty wide variety of stuff (pretty much everything except country, which I despise), but I usually end up listening to metal more than anything else. Favorite bands/artists are Queen, Nightwish, 7L and Esoteric, At Vance, Metallica (Black Album and before), Kamelot, Alestorm, Muse, Insomnium, Jurassic 5, and Eminem.

Food - uh...I like food? I enjoy trying new things, so I'm pretty open. Favorites (in no particular order) are thai, mexican, chinese, and bbq though. Also, fair warning, I don't eat pasta/noodles (not a health thing, I just find them gross, have since I was a baby). I'm trying of late to eat healthier, with inconsistent success.

Also, since this doesn't fit anywhere else on here - I have annual passes for both Disneyland and the Zoo, and enjoy using each as often as possible.
Six things I could never do without
Oxygen, water, foo....you know what, that's probably not what they mean, is it?

I spend a lot of time thinking about
In general, my mind usually dwells on whatever I've spent a lot of time doing recently. If there's a book I'm particularly caught up in or a game I've been playing a lot, my brain will stay there. If there's a major news story, a political issue, or scientific discovery, it'll be there. Basically, I spend a lot of time thinking; whether it's "intellectual" thinking varies day to day.
On a typical Friday night I am
Some combination of hanging out/playing games with friends, seeing a concert, seeing a new movie, going out to dinner/drinks with friends, getting lost in a book, catching up on TV, and occasionally working late.
You should message me if
You're intelligent, fun, like doing new things, think I'm cute, funny, or interesting sounding, or if anything I said above this intrigues you.

Also, if you always know where your towel is.
