My self-summary
I like lively discussions on politics and ethics, people who love what they do, library and cafe hopping, long walks through the city, and broccoli.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a staffer at a labour organization in the university sector. It's only been a year and a half, but I like what I do, and I think I may finally be recovered from grad school. I'm also starting to cultivate non-work/book related hobbies. Well, kind of.

I'm interested in language, empathy, feminist criticism, cooking, politics in various forms, reading all the things, craziness (intentional use of that word), and walking (mostly in cities, not as much in "nature").
I’m really good at
Cooking, dancing, writing and editing, listening.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Writing tastes are always growing, really, but lately I've been excited about Heather O'Neill, Teju Cole, Jasbir Puar, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Sara Ahmed. Older favourites include Joan Didion, Alice Munro, Jeanette Walls, Judith Butler. I'm infatuated with Roxane Gay. I also read The New Yorker religiously.

As for music, there are too many favourites to name, but recently I've been hung up on The Knife, CocoRosie, Joanna Newsom, The National, Chad VanGaallen, Matthew Ryan, Fleet Foxes. Long time favourites: Yo La Tengo and Sleater-Kinney.

TV - the general consensus is that it's good now, right? Some good shit: Lady Dynamite (literally the best show on TV), Bojack Horseman, Broad City, Fresh Off the Boat, Scandal (I like political shit, and shit where WOC call the shots),

Podcasts - I listen to so many. Faves include Code Switch, The New Yorker Fiction Podcast, Homecoming, Heavyweight, More Perfect, Another Round, London Review of Books Podcast, Sooo Many White Guys. Also, these podcasts have ended, but are still worth listening to: Politically Reactive w W. Kamau Bell & Hari Kondabolu and Colour Code.

Food--yeah, I'm a fan. I particularly like really good vegan pho (there are so many great places in Vancouver), all kinds of noodles, dense salads, and any kind of curry. I've also come late, but with much enthusiasm, to a love of avocados.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
You, me, and how it all fits together.

More specifically, the dynamics of privilege, power, and agency.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't have too many secrets. Feel free to ask.
You should message me if
You're interesting, political, and a feminist, think we might get on well, and would like to discuss it further over a full bodied red, or a perfectly chilled, dry white.

Right now I'm most interested in casual dating, although I may be open to it leading to something more serious with the right person(s).

By the way, I would think this would go without saying, but apparently it doesn't. I'm not going to respond to two word, or even one-line messages (unless that one line is super witty and actually says something). Essentially, if your message doesn't give any indication that you actually sent it to me, rather than every woman under 35 on the site, I won't be responding.
