My self-summary
Emerging playwright with a spiffy, official day job. Nice, Jewish boy with iconoclastic leanings. Big nerd, but without all the hipness that carries with it these days.

I spend spare time and cash, when such things exist, on food and culture. I see a ton of theater, and I am game for just about any museum. I can tell you where to get killer cocktails, a great variety of quality burgers, and cuisine from just about ethnicity within the five boroughs.

Generally speaking, I want to say "yes" to things more than I say "no."
What I’m doing with my life
I write plays. You probably haven't heard of any of them, but I'm working on that.

I perform. You probably haven't seen me do that either. I'm working on that bit, too.

The regular paycheck comes from constructing libraries in Queens. It's a suit job, but I'm building libraries!

And on Sundays, I teach ethics to Jewish children in Prospect Heights. It's a nice, weekly gut check on my own values.
I’m really good at
-- Finding a good restaurant
-- Finding the best subway route
-- Making omelets
-- Making conversation
-- Singing
-- Making peace where there is strife
The first things people usually notice about me
They can't quite place me, but they feel like they've met me before, or they know this guy that I'm "exactly like." I don't know what any of this says about me, but it's been the case my entire life.

Around this site, they probably notice my complete inability to answer match questions without explaining myself. (Seriously, people, can we get some nuance in these things?)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

The six things I could never do without
-- a good pen
-- my passport
-- the moment before the curtain rises
-- the moment after...
-- black coffee in epic amounts
-- the company of folks with intellect, integrity, and enthusiasm (a.k.a. my exquisite friends)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Truth, Justice, & the 'merican way
Sex, Booze, & Rock 'n' Roll
The difference between a good line and the right line.
On a typical Friday night I am
At the theater
At a piano bar
Taking it easy after a long week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Dad's a rabbi. Mom's got a degree in social work. So I am very, very (f-ing) well adjusted.

Also, you saw the thing about the show tunes, right?
You should message me if
You're so smart that your wit can cut at thirty paces, but you're so charming, you'd never draw blood with it.

You have a passion in life that is broader than the self and narrower than the world.

You're excited by the notion of a heavily cerebral, very emotional Texas Jew in the city.
