My self-summary
So, here we are in some twenty-first century version of Roxbury/Limelight/Friday's/Starbuck's/or (gasp!) Bennigans, hoping to meet someone before last call. OK, this is LA so perhaps we are checking each other out during downward dog or on the Santa Monica steps...or maybe Whole Foods?

We probably know more about each other's sex lives than anyone should likely know before a first date. Hopefully, your photos are current!

If we were to meet by chance, what would you notice about me? I am tall, fit (somewhat compulsive about yoga and exercise classes!) I'm also a food and health writer, restaurant reviewer, and true foodie. I am all about balance. In conversation, you'd hopefully find me engaging, clever, well-read, intelligent, and cultured. I love to travel, try new restaurants. Wine tasting, driving along PCH, an exhibit at Getty Center or LACMA. Short films, documentaries, foreign films, classics, a thought-provoking film. Reading the New York Times with you over Peet's on a Sunday am.

My shortcomings? I sometimes stay up all night writing or engrossed in a book I can't put down. I probably buy too many books on Amazon. I can never remember any of my passwords! And I don't know how to change my oil, change a flat, or drive a stick but I am willing to learn!

You are skilled/talented at flirting and banter. Smart is sexy. You know your way around a museum or restaurant menu. You are an idea guy who is always looking for the next step in whatever you do. You would prefer to get out there than watch reality TV , though there's nothing wrong with cuddling on the couch. You are fit and take care of yourself without being an obsessive raw foodist who carries goji berries in your pocket and harps on the benefits of, I don't know, green smoothies. You are stylish and appreciate that quality in a woman. You are a gentleman.

Perhaps our paths will cross. When it comes to love and romance, my glass is overflowing with champagne. My optimism may be somewhat tempered by slight doubt that one in five meet the love of his/her life online but we can always say we met at a screening or The Hungry Cat.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a contributing writer to three magazines.I am the food and health editor for a regional magazine so I know all the best restaurants! I also write about real estate. I am a regular contributor to Huffington Post Divorce. In my "down time," I practice yoga, take exercise classes, enjoy films and cultural events, read, and yes, write some more. I am the mother of two incredible, bright daughters, 16 and 20. I enjoy travel, near and far. I like shopping at the farmers market to prepare a great dinner. I enjoy leisurely afternoons at the Getty or LACMA or driving around in search of great LA architecture, especially midcentury.
I’m really good at
writing and exchanging witty repartee, yoga.barre, and picking the movie. I can whip up a pretty decadent chocolate mousse!
The first things people usually notice about me
My legs and my smile.

Six things I could never do without
Morning Peet's or Starbuck's
My daughters
Sunday NY Times
My laptop and a WiFi connection
Vinyasa Flow Yoga and Barre classes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how I can use what I just observed or experienced in my writing; what the future holds for my daughters; what will happen when we finally meet!
On a typical Friday night I am
Quiet dinner in or maybe reviewing a restaurant or catching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I donated a kidney to a stranger in Virginia as part of a paired exchange, enabling my dad to receive a matching kidney. The experience has been quite awe-inspiring and humbling.
You should message me if
you have a good sense of humor, are smart, engaging, and confident!
