My self-summary
Spent a while working as a history teacher at a middle school in Philly. I loved my students but struggled with parents and administration. I followed that by working for a professional sports league based here in Philly. It allowed me to spend a huge amount of my time with hilarious, generally happy people, which I'm really grateful for. After the company went under, I took some time to figure out my next move and I now I work in what essentially amounts to client relationship management for a company in town. I get to work with a lot of cool, local companies and organizations and feel like I'm making an impact.

I'm very social, and have the ability to talk your ear off without really saying much about myself... blame it on a former history teacher's love of facts. I often use humor as a defense or when I'm nervous, but on the plus side, that means that I rarely take myself too seriously, and I'm always willing to laugh. I'm not always aware of what I want, but I like to think I'm self-aware of what I don't know, and I'm trying to figure it out as I go.

Proud Hufflepuff.

Currently... this makes me smile: http://iwastesomuchtime.com/on/?i=89755
What I’m doing with my life
Working, being active, hanging out with my cat and spending time with my friends... I try to be up for anything, so if you want to go climbing, boxing, deep sea diving.... let's give it a try?
I’m really good at
Trivia. I've somehow amassed a really large and eclectic knowledge base of useless facts. I'm always down for Quizzo.

Loyalty. My friends matter a great deal to me, and I'll happily run naked through a blizzard for them. (Or, you know, just to say I did.)

Softball. Hit for power AND average, corner infielder
The first things people usually notice about me
At 6'6", the most common opening comment from new people is "You're really tall." I also have a really low voice that can fill a room pretty easily. Equally useful for teaching and sporting events.

The beard also gets a fair amount of comments.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I really hate this question, as the answers are constantly changing.

Reading for pleasure is something I only really have time for when traveling. Currently I'm re-reading "Norse Mythology" by Neil Gaiman, with "Armada" by Ernest Cline and the Cursed Child on deck.

Movies completely depend on my mood, but I will watch anything and probably enjoy it. I just like the stories. Star Wars, Dumb and Dumber, Godfather, The Rock, Stepbrothers, Brave Little Toaster are a few consistent favorites.

When it comes to TV, I will give any show a chance, but some favorites are Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Walking Dead, Peaky Blinders, Kimmy Schmidt, Rick and Morty, Parks and Rec - the list goes on. All-time favorite might be The West Wing, although I didn't appreciate it until I watched it again after college. I also watch a bunch of shitty comedies and hour long dramas on USA.

Music is all about mood and I like most genres. I really enjoy concerts, from big ones at fairgrounds/arenas to tiny ones at Union Transfer or The Tower. I went to Firefly Festival years ago and had a blast.

Food? Really? I'll eat anything. Except for raw tomatoes and mushrooms... it's a consistency thing.
Six things I could never do without
Jeans in the spring/fall, sweatpants/hoodies in the winter, flip flops, my car, my laptop, my phone. My physical needs are pretty boring I guess. My conversational ones are less so. Let's just get a drink...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Feel free to ask.

Recently, I'm concerned with my next steps in life, whether it be professional, romantic or beverage related...
On a typical Friday night I am
Hopefully out in the city with a drink or 5. I'm lucky to have a bunch of close friends in the area who are equally awesome at "important" conversation and drinking. Don't ask which we do more often.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Not really sure about this, but I promise 100% honesty, so ask away...
You should message me if
You're passionate about something, you're eager to laugh, and you enjoy making all sorts of otherwise routine activities fun. Or, you know, you need help reaching something on a top shelf.

You're a feminist. People passionate about equality are hot.

I think the best way I've seen this put on here is: "It's probably best if your favorite flavor isn't vanilla"

I'll use this as a chance to say that if your softball team needs a middle of the order, corner infielder... I'm available.
