The last several years of my life have been a blur of different places literally around the world, and I've had a lot of good experiences because of it. But recently I've started wanting to settle down and finally start building my life and future here in Raleigh. That also would ideally mean I find a long term, meaningful relationship with a special woman that I could eventually call my wife.
First off, I try to be a pretty happy person. I'm laughing and joking all the time, and definitely try not to take things too seriously unless I have to. It's really hard to offend me, and I very rarely get stressed. That being said, there are still many aspects of my life that I'm passionate about, and that define who I am at the core.
For instance, I am a Christian, and serious about my faith. I believe in not having sex until marriage, and am looking for a Christian woman who is also saving herself. I am also a professional musician, and highly value personal expression. I try to enjoy people's creations for not just their entertainment value but also for their artistic value, and what ideals or meaning they may represent.
On a lighter note, I'm a big nerd, and love stuff like reading, playing video games, watching anime, karaoke, and being a big dork with friends. I am a very affectionate person; It's how I show love, and how I feel most appreciated. So if you like hugging, touching, kissing, holding hands, etc., then we're already speaking the same language. I love to laugh, and usually can enjoy being silly and comfortable with the simple, fun things that keeps my inner child alive. :)
There are a lot of things about me I'm sure I forgot, or that would take too long to explain in this short introduction, but let's get to know each other! :) I'm extremely open, so feel free to ask whatever you'd like, and start a great conversation.
I'll add more as I think of them. :)
His Dark Materials trilogy (Philip Pullman)
The Inheritance Cycle (Christopher Paolini)
Several books by C.S. Lewis (Screwtape Letters, Mere Christianity, The Chronicles of Narnia, Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, etc.)
The Song of Ice and Fire (George R. R. Martin)
The Harry Potter series (J.K. Rowling)
The Mistborn Trilogy (Brandon Sanderson)
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (J.R.R. Tolkein)
Orion (Ben Bova)
Ender's Game (Orson Scott Card)
Othello (William Shakespeare)
I could go on, seriously, if you can't tell I LOVE reading. LOL. But generally I tend to enjoy Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy books the most. :)
Pretty much anything directed by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, The Cat's Return, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, etc.)
Pretty much anything from Pixar
(If you can't tell by now, I really tend to love animated films)
I can't think of anymore right now, but I know there are plenty I'm forgetting...
As far as TV shows, I don't really watch a lot of TV these days. I do watch a TON of anime though (That list would be way too long, so if you want to know, just ask) But the last few TV shows that I REALLY enjoyed were/are
Avatar: The Last Airbender
All over the place really.
Videogame and Movie soundtracks/scores
Japanese music (traditional and contemporary)
Honestly, a bit of everything. The only genres I tend to dislike are Rap, and Contemporary R&B. Though I enjoy some of the rhythms and musical aspects of the genres, the messages/subjects of many of these songs cause me to lose respect for otherwise promising musical talent. And specifically with Rap, I find many songs musically lackluster; they provide very little musical creativity or variety, lack talented vocalists, etc.
Anyways, I graduated with a degree in Jazz Studies, so I could probably talk to you all day about different musical styles and concepts, so I'd better stop here for now. :p
Affection (I'm a huge cuddle bug)
