My self-summary
This is what I have been prioritizing lately: poetry. friendships. teaching. studying. art (in the broad sense of the word). mutual aid and collaborative resistance. writing. taking care of myself with exercise and meditation. laughter. resisting the zombie death march of the dominant culture.
What I’m doing with my life
I write books and make almost zero dollars from them. But it's gratifying work.

I organize poetry readings in Oakland.

I work as a PE teacher at the public elementary school at the end of the street I live on. I work as a reading tutor there too.

I try to involve myself politically with the world around me by going to protests. I also have been writing with a prisoner in solitary confinement who has been doing a lot of political work while he's been incarcerated. It's been a really great learning experience for us both.
I’m really good at
bringing people together. staying in contact with people i care about. communicating and listening. poetry.
The first things people usually notice about me
i don't know. in this society, probably that i'm male. if i want to be cute about it i could say my friendliness.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
i like lot of vegetables. i like japanese, mexican, indian food.

been thinking about three films a lot lately, The Passion of Joan of Arc, Do The Right Thing, and Heathers

Gregg Araki is pretty fabulous too.

madonna, destroyer, nas

I read a lot of poetry, history, religion, stuff about gender and race, a little bit of theory, a lot of stuff with a radical bent to it.
Six things I could never do without
books. friends. movies. libraries. bike. love.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my friends. poetry. cause and effect. politics. death and rebirth. our public education system (with strife!)
On a typical Friday night I am
i go to a lot of poetry readings. sometimes i see a movie. sometimes i hang out with a friend. sometimes i go see some music. sometimes I'll see a lecture.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
the ratio of time spent on this site to messages i send people is really low. i am kind of shy and introverted even though i don't really come off that way at first.
You should message me if
you've seen me around town and wanted to talk to me but didn't.

you're an open and (incredibly) honest person.

it doesn't give me the option in the "looking for" section, but i'm also interested in genderqueer and non-binary folks in addition to women.
