My self-summary
I was born in NYC, raised in the suburbs, and have now been back in the city for 11 years (!!!). I like to think I’m a “real” New Yorker even though all my formative years were spent in a small town. (If you’re a true city native I’m sure your eyes just rolled.)

I have a sense of humor that can't seem to be truthfully translated into a text box. Perhaps this is because my humor stems from knowing my friends well on a personal level. People seem to like me because I know how to gently make fun of them. (OK, sometimes it's not so gentle.)

Below are some things I like.

Music - I love oldies music. My favorite genres are classic soul, classic R&B, classic country, classic rock, and classic pop.
Following politics - I grew up watching Washington Week in Review on Friday nights with my parents.
Camping, hiking, skiing, and being outdoors - Very few things beat popping open a bottle of red wine at the summit of a mountain.
Running & swimming - I exercise a couple times a week. It would be nice to meet someone that I could play other sports with.
Photography - ...more recently, videography.
Piano - I'm on-and-off with the practicing these days. I like to learn easy, singalong song. Chords instead of site reading (it's much easier.)
Food and Drink - I like my restaurants fancy and my bars divey.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a technology teacher/integrator at a progressive, private elementary school in Chelsea. I teach PreK to 5th grade, as well as support general technology integration in classrooms. Basically, I work to enhance learning using animation, Scratch programming, digital drawing, video editing, Lego robotics, green screens, 3D design/printing, and many other forms of technology. It's a new and exciting field, and I love it.

I also taught elementary math in the Bronx for two and a half years. As a consequence, I wrote and self-published a math lesson book called "Math Art" ( I've sold over 5,100 copies.

My current side-project is to program (using JavaScript, PHP, and SQL) an educational, politics-themed web-game. If you have programming skills, hit me up!
I’m really good at
explaining things, cleaning my apartment on the weekends and then not maintaining it during the week, speed chess, making playlists with mostly oldies music, writing, digital photography/videography, being the host with most
