When I'm not at work, I like to get out with my friends (unless I'm staying in to game with them online) and either play board games or Pathfinder (A new version of D&D). I don't do LARPing, it's just weird to me, but if that's your thing, all the more power to you. I'm perfectly fine sitting a table cursing my dice as they curse me in return, since I roll terrible, no matter what game, no matter what the reason.
I spend probably far more time than is healthy for me playing board games with my gamer nerd friends. Some of my favorite games are Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Cataan, Carcasonne and Power Grid. (If you like Power Grid, MESSAGE ME! Its my favorite game by far!)
I used to be a WoW-nerd, but I'm recovering now (I'm on step 8!). I don't spend nearly as much time on the computer as I used to (and the returning color to my skin shows that), but I still can be found on there a lot.
I've also been told that I'm a great listener, and that I give good advice, but a lot of that probably comes from the old saying "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."
If you ever get into a life or death game of Trivial Pursuit, you want me on your team. I can remember inane little facts that don't make any sense to a normal person, but then I'd forget my head sometimes if it wasn't attached quite firmly. Just don't ask me to play Pictionary. I can't draw to save my life!
I'm also quite excellent at providing comic relief to any role playing group. Need that critical hit to save the group? Watch me roll a 1. I can do it almost on command! I'm quite famous for slaying more friends than enemies!
I've also been told that I'm extremely thoughtful and polite and though it seems counter-intuitive, fun to be around. At first, I can be shy, even a bit cautious. (But I'm all too easily tempted to be naughty!)
I also enjoy reading alternative histories. Since I have a BA in History, it's interesting to read an author's take on what might have been.
I enjoy watching a variety of movies, and I can even enjoy the random romantic comedy on occasion as well. Probably some of my favorite movies are pretty much any movie by Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Robin Hood:Men in Tights). I also love the Oceans 11-12-13 series, although I haven't seen the original one yet. I enjoy movies that make me think...a recent favorite was Inception, for exactly that reason. Although don't get me pigeonholed, I can enjoy the insanely funny movies as well (See my above entries. Not much thinking required to enjoy those!)
I watch a lot of TV, but usually all online, since I don't have cable or even a TV antenna. (Really, who needs live TV? It's just reality shows and commercials anymore!) I watch all sorts of shows, mostly sci-fi or dramas. I loved LOST, really got into the Tudors, enjoy watching Doctor Who and watch far too much Law and Order:SVU. I also enjoy a lot of British television, shows like Hustle and Sherlock are great. It's great to see another culture's cultural outlook.
I have a very wide music selection, a lot of it depending on my current mood and available music selection. My car radio tends to be on rock most of the time, but I listen to all sorts of music on Pandora, from Glee music, to Acapella (I LOVE ROCKAPELLA!), to movie and musical soundtracks, to even some pop and country music as well. Pretty much the only things I don't care for is hardcore rap and most hippie type songs. I can tolerate them, but not really my favorite thing.
Food tends to be my downfall sometimes. I'm somewhat of a picky eater, although I'm trying to re-expand my horizons again, after many years of denial. I tend to stay safe most of the time, and just eat mostly meat and potatoes type fare, although I do enjoy pasta and some Chinese food. Mexican is a bit hit or miss, but it can be good as well.
Second, a computer, mainly for games and music.
Third, of course, I'd need some food. Preferentially something I enjoy, like pizza or hamburger gravy.
Fourth, someone to talk to (and play games with!)
Fifth, Board games (or role playing books, but that could fit in the first choice)
Sixth would have to be a pet. Nothing says unconditional love like a dog. Or imperious overlordship like a cat. Both provide companionship, although the cat only does so on his terms.
