My self-summary
First and foremost, my heart belongs to Christ. I don’t always live it or even remember it, so it’s a good thing that when “our heart condemns us, God is greater than our hearts, and knows all things.”

I’m a very enthusiastic person. Passionate. When I get excited about something, I dive in with everything.

I’m eternally hopeful. This means I get hurt a lot, but I believe some things (friendships, principles, ideals) are worth the risk. “I’m still a dreamer, a believer. I’ve lost my faith in so many things, but I still believe in You.”

A big part of me still wishes I had a tree house.

“I love old things. They make me feel sad.” “What’s good about sad?” you may ask. “It’s happy for deep people.” Sorry. Couldn’t resist the quote. I do love old things, but they don’t make me sad, they make me think. I love the stories that you hear a whisper of when you find or examine something that’s older than your grandparents. I have a coin collection, and my oldest one is an 1873 Indian Head penny. Where all has that penny been in 140 years? How many stories has it seen? One of my life goals is to own a metal detector and find things of historical or financial significance. Or maybe just some really cool looking old stuff.

I also collect coins from around the world. I love to travel, to see the beauty that God has created in nature and in cultures. (If you Christian boys have a problem with that last one, read Eternity in Their Hearts by Don Richardson). I like to go places and try new things. It bothers me that there is so much of Houston that I haven’t explored. Too often, practicality and comfort quench my thirst for discovery and my wanderlust. I want someone who will hold my hand and lead me into new adventures, new horizons.

That is ultimately the person for whom I am looking. God has a plan for me, a story that He wants to write for His glory. He has made me compassionate and contemplative and passionate and with an adventurous spirit on purpose. I believe He wants to use me to reach the world for Him, and I’m looking for someone with the same call to take my hand and to fight and build and love and sacrifice along side of me. I believe He could use me without a partner, a comrade, a fellow soldier, but I am flawed. It may be His plan to bring someone to me who complements my strengths and makes up for and encourages me to overcome my weaknesses.

And, because I’m pretty truthful, here’s some negative: I procrastinate, and I’m perpetually late. I don’t do either of these intentionally or out of a lack of consideration. Some struggles just take longer to overcome.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, I'm working hard trying to payoff my student loans. But I believe that God will eventually (sooner, rather than later, hopefully) find a place for me on a foreign mission field. I've been on several mission trips, and I can't really imagine living my life for anything else. Not to say that I'm closed-minded about any changes to my dreams. I'll follow wherever He leads. But my heart aches for impoverished children in other countries.
I’m really good at
Baking cupcakes. Seriously.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, don't know if it's the first thing, but if I'm with my sisters, people are like, "Are you sisters? You look so much alike!" Then we play the who-do-you-think-is-older game or how-old-do-you-think-I-am game. I love that game because nobody ever guesses I'm thirty. They're always like, "Wow! You look 25!" Yeah. Good game.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love C.S. Lewis and read The Chronicles of Narnia every year. Even though they're kids' books, I think every adult Christian should read them. I love The Weight of Glory as well. Some other authors who are awesome are John Piper, Ravi Zacharias, Timothy Stoner, and Philip Yancey. I'm a big Tolkien fan, too.

My favorite movies include The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Die Hard movies, The Indiana Jones movies (except the last one; talk about disappointing), Pride and Prejudice, The Shawshank Redemption, Tombstone, Fool's Gold, the Marvel movies, and Les Miserables.

T.V., you ask? I like The Office, Once Upon a Time, Park and Recreation, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and Sherlock. I'm also a major Whovian. Ten cool points if you know what that means. :)

As far as music goes, I listen pretty much exclusively to Christian music. Some of my favorites include the Newsboys (Peter Furler edition), Tenth Avenue North, TobyMac, Lecrae, Britt Nicole, Chris Tomlin, Sanctus Real, Crowder, and NeedtoBreathe. Lately, I've been obsessing over the Les Miserables soundtrack.

Food? Yes, please.
Six things I could never do without
My sisters
The sky
I spend a lot of time thinking about
God - His plans for me, our relationship, what He's doing and going to do in my life. I'm also very creative, so I let my imagination run wild quite frequently. I really enjoy writing, and it would be seriously cool if God were to use me in that way some day.
On a typical Friday night I am
...usually working. But if I do have a free evening, I like to spend it with my sisters or my church friends. I like going to the movies or to dinner. I LOVE concerts! I also like trying new things, going places I've never been before. I'm cool with staying at home, too. I like having people over, but I also don't mind being by myself.
You should message me if
... you can use complete sentences and punctuation. Seriously.

My first priority, however, is to hear from a Godly guy. If you love Christ and want to honor Him with your life, send me a message. If you just want to talk about Him, that'd be great, too.
