My self-summary
My personal philosophy- insofar as I have one, and insofar as I understand anything about philosophy (which I rather don't)- is that this is the only life I am going to have, and I should do things that please me. That includes analyzing the reasons behind doing things that don't please me. Practical hedonism?

Other things you may be interested to know:
-I am an introvert with a moderate-to-high capacity to interact at parties.
-I don't believe in reading the classics just because they're classics.
-I've been to France, England, Jamaica, China, Antarctica, plus all over North America.
-I'm something of a misanthrope.
-I like driving winding roads.

In nerdery: Slytherin/Pukwudgie, lawful neutral (up for debate), INTP/J, power to control the weather, Batman.
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying it.
I’m really good at
Sounding like I know more about a topic than I actually do (a generalist disguising herself as a polymath); flights of fancy; crafts; derailing my own train of thought ("...What was I just talking about?"); list-making. I'm also good at vocabulary! And Pictionary!

Seriously. You'll want to be on my team for Pictionary.
The first things people usually notice about me
Fat lady, right here 👈

If you saw me on a bus, you'd probably notice that I was knitting.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a. I love books! My genre of choice is Fantasy, though it's not too hard to get me to read other things.
Some of my favorite authors: Terry Pratchett, Garth Nix, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jim Butcher, Patricia McKillip, Shirley Jackson, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Margaret Frazer, Ysabeau Wilce, Ben Aaronovitch.

a/b. Plays: Mary Zimmerman's Arabian Nights, Much Ado About Nothing, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Twelfth Night, Martin McDonaugh's The Pillowman. Shakespeare, full stop.

b. My all-time favorites are Willow and Conan the Barbarian. To round it out, my lesser favorites (is that an oxymoron?) are Galaxy Quest, V for Vendetta, The Fifth Element, Moonrise Kingdom, Stranger than Fiction, and Black Cat White Cat. (There are a lot of movies I've loved, though.)

c. I will happily watch any PBS or BBC murder mystery, any rendition of Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett is the best), and a slew of other witty shows.

d. I love most kinds of music, and I prefer to change it up often, to avoid band fatigue. Recent enjoyment provided by: Rihanna, Bulgarian State Choir, Florence and the Machine.

e. Ah, food. Can't really go wrong there; so much of it is delicious. However, I have a rather plebeian palate, so I'm often texture-oriented when in comes to nuance; foods I don't like are invariably so because of their texture. Not a beer or coffee drinker.
The six things I could never do without
-Books.
-Yarn.
-Imagination.
-Orgasms.
-Condiments.
-Electricity.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Crafting, scheming, world-building.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing with words.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a fast learner, but I've a terrible memory for conversations, names, and vacations.
You should message me if
you have something clever to say.
you have a burning question no other can answer.
you know of a local Pictionary tournament.
