My self-summary
A puzzle inside a riddle wrapped in an enigma, and your job is to find the key!

I'm a kind, caring, fun-loving, sociable, well travelled, sometimes stressed out, normally smiley person who works hard all week and enjoys few things more than chilling out for my weekends. (Chilling out doesn't mean sitting on my bum doing bugger all - prefer to be active and busy! but can also enjoy a DVD night, with a nice bottle of wine and good company.)
What I’m doing with my life
I work as an engineering consultant, which most people seem to think is more interesting than it actually is; it pays the bills though.

I'm starting a photography course in September, as it's something I've always got a lot of enjoyment from and would like to be able to take good pictures more consistently! (Maybe I just need better subjects... any volunteers?)
I’m really good at
Opening the fridge and rustling up something delicious from whatever I find. (Though I have to admit, that sometimes my more experimental creations get replaced by a take-away!)
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a very cheezy smile! Which I like to flash at any given opportunity.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
All Time Favorite: Douglas Adams - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Recent Favorites: Mikey Walsh - Gypsey Boy, Neil Gaiman - American Gods, Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials Trilogy, William Corlett - Now & Then

I love a good film I do. But I don't have a definitive list of favorites, other that V for Vendetta - it's nothing short of genius in my opinion, and if you haven't, you really should make the effort to see it!

Recently I've enjoyed:
The A-Team: yes the new reboot - it was mindless fun and I was quite surprised how much I actually enjoyed it!
Iron-Man 2: escapism... and yes Tony Stark pushes a few buttons for me ;)
How to Train Your Dragon: One of the better kids films!
Hot-tub Time Machine: Please don't judge me based on this film!
Kick-Ass: Kicked Arse!
Inception: Yes it's was pretty obvious where it was going, but it did make me think more than most of the junk that holywood churn out.

You'll find all you ever want to know (including the shameful musical indulgences) here: http://www.last.fm/user/aatom

I am an unashamed carnivorous carbiphobe.

I like most things, but if you're ever cooking for me please avoid mushrooms!

I like my steak Rare (if it's a high quality cut)

I dislike chain restaurants, and try not to order the same dish as anyone else at the table! If I know it doesn't contain mushrooms I'll try almost anything foodwise!
Six things I could never do without
1) Sunshine - I'm an Irishman who loves the sun, and hates the rain!
2) A writing device - Either pen & paper or something with keys... love to write.
3) Passport - 27 countries done, only 176 to go!
4) Love - It's pretty scant at the moment, but I live in hope.
5) Laughter - Keeps me sane (ish)
6) Ice - Cold drinks should always be icy cold.
You should message me if
Not really sure what I'm looking for in my perfect guy; it takes all sorts really. There's the obligatory 'make me laugh' 'make me smile' and 'make me feel special', but also be a little crazy, spontaneous, gregarious, passionate (about something/anything), intelligent and enjoy a good conversation (Topics to include anything and everything, ranging from x-factor to politics, art to zoology).

I have to admit, looks will get you noticed... but it's you mind that I need to fall for.

If you think you fit the bill for friendship or more, please drop me a message!
