There are only a few things I, personally, believe; one of them is the 'Golden Rule'. To treat others as you'd like to be treated. As well as, not mistreating others in a way you would not like to be treated.
Another idea of belief: we should all love openly, outwardly, and indiscriminately.
I have been conducting my own personal experiment on human psychology, and everyone I encounter becomes a 'test subject'. I have been analytically observing those around me for the past eight or nine years now. Let's just say that, I've come across many people from all walks of life with varying backgrounds, and have come to the conclusion that our race would be a lot more successful if they were to eliminate the word 'me' and 'I' from their vocabulary and thought process. Speaking of 'thought process', stupid people come in all shapes, sizes and colors. I don't necessarily mean 'stupid' in the academic/book smarts way, but rather more along the lines of 'common sense'. It seems common sense is not as common as I remember it to be as a child. But, there ARE good people out there too. You may just have to sift through a lot of shit to locate them. Further more, a fraction of those people are people of great value, and worth the time and effort.
Putting my ego aside.
Showing new perspectives.
Reading people's energy vibrations.
Saying what's on my mind.
Operating an Apple iPhone.
Commandeering a radio dial.
I am weird/different/abnormal than most you cross paths with in life, with my vision towards the 'big picture', rather than the smaller details. That I am a kind, curteous person with a sometimes sarcastic sense of humor. I can talk really fast, and shift discussion from topic to varying topic at will. AND...I like to joke and laugh. :)
It wouldn't be living, if there were no music. It is the first love of my life, and we are STILL involved in a passionate relationship. I have a wide variety of tastes when it comes to music, and almost always can find a mutual interest. The past year had me discovering a ton of great classic rock and early 20th century blues. Here are just a SMALL sample of artists I enjoy:
TOOL (favorite band)
Nine Inch Nails
The White Stripes
The Dead Weather
Credence Clearwater Revival
A Perfect Circle
Sonny Boy Williamson II
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The Black Keys
The Bee Gees
My books are probably my most cherished of my few physical possessions. I read predominantly non-fiction, and my favorite author is Dr. Carl G. Jung. I enjoy the topics of spirituality, psychology, astronomy, astrology, 'forbidden' history and archeology, numerology, sacred geometry, Zecharia Sitchin's works, reincarnation, UFO's, the multiverse, and philosophy. I also like to mix it up with a graphic novel here and there. Growing up, I was a Marvel guy. But, in my latter years, I have become a DC fan. Graphic novels that stand out: The Dark Knight Returns, Superman: Red Son, Watchmen, and Crisis on Infinite Earths. My favorite comic character is Batman, followed closely by Magneto. Wolverine rounds out the top three.
*Went to the theater to see "John Carter of Mars" with my son. GREAT movie! We BOTH recommend it!*
I've really stopped watching 'tell lie vision' all together. Rarely, do I even watch sports anymore. Haven't seen many movies in the past year either. Almost all the video footage I take in, comes from the internet via my iPhone. There WAS a time I watched movies, and here's a couple I liked:
The Matrix (first one only)
Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas
All of Bruce Lee's movies
The Dark Knight
How To Operate Your Brain
My "virgin" skin
*I have removed "my son" and "family" from the list, as someone so perfectly stated in their profile: "friends and family are not things". I concur.*
the pieces starting to fall into place, but still lacking clarity of the said "jigsaw"...
As the aforementioned clarity becomes more defined, it really has become clear to me to ENJOY the time we have. Appreciate the opportunity to be alive and breathing. Don't let the unnecessary rob you of the experience...
And, I don't just mean "romantically". You may miss out on a potential friend. Friends are good to have. Good friends are hard to find.
You enjoy philosophical/psychological/spiritual conversation.
