I just got back from a 10 month deployment on am aircraft carrier!
My name is Michael, and I like turtles. I'm an aviation mechanic in the Navy, and I'm really enjoying what I do. I've been in for seven and a half years, and I plan on doing 20. Retiring at 37 sounds pretty good, no? I just moved to the valley from San Diego, and it's a huge change for me. Looking for something to help me explore the area.
I'm into good music, movies, the occasional video game, good beer, nice cars, good food, basketball, football, Naruto, reading, Reddit, and playing games on my phone while I'm in the bathroom. I'm a vinyl junkie (just home audio - no DJ'ing). I love my Technics and my ever-growing collection of records. I happen to think Johnny Walker is a pretty cool dude, and Jack Daniel is quite the gentleman. I don't always drink, but when I do, I prefer good whiskey. I also enjoy a good beer.
I'd say I'm quite the mutt. A quarter Arab, quarter Mexican, quarter Spanish, and I got my skin tone from my dad's mom, who is a mix of all sorts of Northern European. Thanks for the lack of melanin, Graw.
Self-proclaimed all around awesome person. I think I'm pretty hilarious, as well. And I've been told that I'm quite humble. I wouldn't say I'm a mama's boy, but I do love that woman. I'm an only child, and family is very important to me. As are friendships. You'll see... if you're lucky. You know... because I'm such an awesome guy and whatnot.
Ok, Cupid, let's see what you have in store for me.
I'm also REALLY good at eating. And laughing. And talking. Well... listening, rather. Cuddling, nerd stuff, the occasional back flip, taking risks, unintentionally hurting myself, working with my hands, and the list goes on.
Among many other flattering titles, I'm known as a human jukebox. I can name that tune, and I may even know all the lyrics. I'd really like someone to do Bohemian Rhapsody with me on karaoke. Who's game?
Movies: Ok, I consider myself to be a bit of a movie buff. I have a huge collection of all types. I don't have any chick flicks, but I did very much enjoy The Notebook. Anyone who says they didn't just doesn't want to admit that they cried. I'd say my top five favorites are Across the Universe, American History X, Donnie Darko, Hot Rod, and Lucky Number Sleven. Oh, and Pulp Fiction. And how could I forget Snatch? Let's forget I mentioned my top five. Honestly, there are just too many to name, and I'm not gonna bore you with a huge list. And holy crap, Django Unchained. 'Nuff said.
TV: I honestly don't watch much. Mostly basketball. Other than that, I pretty much only watch Workaholics, Sons of Anarchy, Archer, and Sportscenter. But just like I love watching a good movie, I love watching a good TV series.
Music: If you recognize my username, we're gonna get along just fine. My favorite band is Coheed and Cambria. By far. I have all sorts of merch, have been to multiple shows, and even have a Coheed tattoo. The Mars Volta (R.I.P.) is my second favorite, and after that, it's a toss up. I like Thrice, At the Drive-in, Brand New, TBS, Killswitch Engage, The Cinematic Orchestra, Alkaline Trio, Eminem, Incubus, Immortal Technique, Jack Johnson, Lupe Fiasco, Jimi, Jimmy Eat World, Kid Cudi, Led Zep, The Beatles, Matisyahu, Queen, RATM, Rebelution, RHCP, Silversun Pickups, Yeah Yeah Yeahs,Sublime, Bone Thugz, and the list goes on. I'd say I like a pretty eclectic mix.
Food: Oh boy. Let's just say I like it all. Except mushrooms and olives. I guess if I HAD to pick some favorites, I'd have to say sushi, Thai, Italian, and an awesome burrito place.
Something interesting to read
I hate to say it, but... my phone
And, seeing as how that's more than six, I could never do without breaking the rules a bit.
And have you ever contemplated the life of a duck? I have.
Also, I hated The Big Lebowski. There, I said it.
OR if anything you've read thus far has piqued your interest.
