I tend to be uncouth, forthright, and more than a tad sarcastic. This can, and does, very often results in a stream of bad puns and a few unwelcome truths.
I've never really fit neatly into any real social group, and I don't much care to. I've learned, more-or-less, who I am, and that's good enough for me. When other people figure me out, the onus falls unto them to decide how they wish to interact with me, if at all.
While I can be more blunt than others would care for, I'm a more laid back and relaxed individual. Life moves on, one way or another, and it is up to me to take it as it comes and figure out how to go with it. Not too much point trying to swim against the current.
Also, and this is important, when I start to blurt out information I may have a hard time bringing it to a close. This is especially true when it comes to a typed format, much like here. The result can be a flood of information that may or may not have any real relevance to the topic at hand.
... I really should update my profile picture.
It is closing in on a full year since I picked up a bike and started to really take action about my physical health. It isn't any to brag about, but I've been making steady progress.
There's also an interest in music. I've got a collection of instruments, all of which I can make noise with, but none I'd dare make claim to be good at. They're things I enjoy and great for relaxation, introspection, and handy to take to semi-public outings where one doesn't want to get bogged down in a bunch of small-talk.
I've spent a lot of time with board games and card games, even having managed a hobby shop that specialized in them, which results in me not to shabby with them.
I'd also like to think I'm good with music.
It is not that I seek attention or try be different from those around me, I just don't quite fit in.
As strange as this may be, but I often have a hard time passively listening to music. It is an 'all or nothing' thing with me. When I do listen it generally falls under three main categories: Music I can perform (Jazz, Blues, Classical), Music that's too complex to perform (just to get lost in completely), Music I've never really heard before (quality isn't really required here).
I enjoy eating but am not the best of cooks. When preparing for myself it tends to be some form of pasta. I'm also a fan of shrimp and cheese.
I'm not much of a reader. There's seldom a time when I have the time to sit and read when I don't have the availability to partake in a hobby of mine, like music or general computer use. However, when reading is the only real option before me I'm perfectly content with general sci-fi or fantasy.
Movies and Television:
I seldom go out to see movies. I have this strange idea that if I want to watch a movie I should do it alone without distraction and if I want to hang out with others there are better options than going to a theater for the background noise.
When I do take the time to sit and watch something it is usually along the lines of classics, comedies, sci-fi, psychological, and/or anime. I realize it is customary to list out specifics, but there are a lot of things I've enjoyed and I don't want to have to list them or pick out 'only the best' since my taste and desires in what to see tend to change and cycle.
The rest I've learned how to manage without, but having the internet is pretty awesome.
To a much lesser extent, how to reduce the number of times the word 'I' is used on my okCupid bio (though not with as much success as desired).
After that I just get home and bum around, usually online.
