My self-summary
Portland transplant from LA, I missed winters too much. My dog can't say the same.

I spend most of my time away from work cooking, writing, doing graphic design, reading, going to shows, pretty much anything but sleeping. I just started trying to play the keyboard again, after an eight year break.

I try to be really positive about life, and try to surround myself with people that are as well. I'm really protective of my friends, and try to show them that I appreciate them as much as I can. I'm rarely serious and like people that have a really sharp sense of humor.

Hmm..extra points if you know the song/artist that my profile name is from?
What I’m doing with my life
Aside from doing all the stuff I just listed? Playing with my dog, working at a record label doing product development (it's all nerdy stuff, if you're really into screen printing then we can talk for hours), and trying to hit as many restaurants as possible. My TV rarely strays from Food Network. I'm also looking for a new book club, so if you know of any hit me up.
I’m really good at
Cooking! If I could do it over again I would've gone to culinary school. I'm from Oklahoma, I didn't know that could be an actual thing back then.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my tattoos, followed by "Did that-" and me cutting them off with "Yes, it hurt. They all hurt."

Nope...probably just tattoos.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS - The Shadow of the Wind - all time favorite book. Go read it right now. We can discuss. other books: A Moveable Feast, The Stranger, anything by David Foster Wallace or Kurt Vonnegut, most of Chuck Klosterman's stuff.

MOVIES - Stay (it's from the early 2000's, it's got Ryan Gosling and Ewan McGegor in it. No one else that I know has really heard of it, so if you have, high fives), The Baxter (favorite line "You speed walk and I run, that's an amazing coincidence." "Yeah! ...kinda."), Wet Hot American Summer, and maybe Winter Passing?

SHOWS - probably the same stuff everyone else has listed? Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, etc. Also the BBC version of Sherlock, and I'm really late to the game on watching The West Wing.

MUSIC - sooooooooooooooooooo many. Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, The Magnetic Fields, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death, Wolfsheim, De/Vision, Concrete Blonde, Peter Murphy, Depeche Mode, Richard Hell, The Dresden Dolls, Mates of State, Jack White, The Kills, BRMC, The Polyphonic Spree, The Donnas, it goes on and on and on and on
Six things I could never do without
1. pen and paper - I'm counting them as one, because c'mon.
2. my dog - even though he's trying to edge me off the couch right now.
3. a camera - I'm hardly ever in front of the lens, which is fine with me.
4. my pocket knife - I was a boy scout, I use it for everything
5. Spotify - it's addicting like crack. Like musical crack.
6. my phone - it runs my life. now I want a kickback from Android.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Uhh...probably kittens?

...I just really like kittens.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably baking cookies with Netflix playing in the background
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
on the interwebs? 'cause there's no way that can backfire, right?
You should message me if
You like to cook, like sometimes doing things and sometime not doing things (I'm also a big fan of staying in and watching movies or playing board games), are happy, don't have the crazies, and like animals.
