My self-summary
I'm Canadian. I eat poutine and wear toques. How totally foreign and exotic.

I'm also a student. I read things about stuff. I plan on using my charm and good looks to coast through the rest of my life while doing as little work as possible.

It's not working.
What I’m doing with my life
Studying sustainability and wine. I occasionally talk about really cool and interesting things like whether or not stelvins or corks are the superior closure. And the biochemistry of tannins. And why Robert Parker is the worst. Lately I've also been getting into a lot of arguments regarding the history of wine vs. the history of beer.

I'm also drinking too much (or not enough?) beer and brewing it with a bunch of badass ladies. No boys allowed.
I’m really good at
Looking unimpressed. All the time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Here are some examples of things I sometimes like so you can tell me how much we have in common.

Books: Exile and the Kingdom (Camus), Food Politics (Marion Nestle), Trainspotting (Welsh), No One Belongs Here More Than You (Miranda July), anything by bell hooks

Music: Ted Leo, The Books, Fucked Up, Fugazi, Mirah

TV: Community, Parks and Rec, Oz, Misfits

Film: Weekend, Le Feu Follet (even though I think Alain was the whiniest, piece of shit character ever), Raise the Red Lantern, Alien and sometimes Aliens, Trainspotting, No
The six things I could never do without
Wine, beer, whisky, good food, bad food, books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Gender, feminism, agroecology, food ethics and policy, how complicated everything is
