A good conversation or experience should take me outside my comfort zone, to broaden my horizon, or blow me straight out of it..
NY feels like the place for me but I can feel at ease almost anywhere; from the Canadian Rocky Mountains to Bamyan or Beiruth, from Marfa, TX to the city I live in: Amsterdam. Work made me move back there but I return to NYC as often as possible.
I used to be a sucker for facts and figures but nowadays I get much more inspired by out-of-the-box thinking. Like Picasso said 'art is a lie that makes us realize truth'.
(An interviewer with a wooden leg to Frank Zappa: "With your long hair, from where I am sitting, you could be a woman."
Zappa: "From where I’m sitting, you could be a table.")
I used to work as one of the three editors for the Dutch equivalent of Meet the Press and as a researcher/producer for a public television current affairs documentary series comparable to PBS's Frontline.
Looking for work in NY..

Kindling enthusiasm in whatever I find to be mindblowing and getting infected by it myself.
