My self-summary
I'm optimistic, fun, compassionate, sensitive, independent, and intelligent, and often either entertain or make others uncomfortable with my dark sense of humor. I spend a lot of time reading, doing yoga, cooking, and spending time outdoors. I'm active in the local Jewish and Buddhist communities - spirituality is important to me.

I'm looking for a fellow independent and compassionate soul who's laid back and follows the beat of their own drum.
What I’m doing with my life
Because DC: I work at a museum and I like it very much.
When I'm not at work, I'm likely spending time with friends, finding a stranger's dog to play with, or enjoying some peace and quiet at home.
I’m really good at
Listening. Cooking. Making jokes, but knowing when it's time to be serious. Communication via emoji. Animal whispering.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm never far from a good book or two. I read the heavy stuff at work, so on my own I prefer fiction or books about Buddhism/meditation or pop psychology.

Favorite music: Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Lost in the Trees, Iron & Wine, The Everybodyfields, Sharon Van Etten, Beirut, Rilo Kiley, and Regina Spektor.

Favorite food: extra spicy anything, but especially thai curry.

I'm not a big tv-watcher.
Six things I could never do without
My friends, trees, books, yoga, coffee, and my adorable baby niece.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Dinner. Current events (?!?!?!). The weekend.
On a typical Friday night I am
Jew stuff or falling asleep embarrassingly early.
You should message me if
You like the outdoors, making me laugh, you're happy with your life and who you are, you have a high tolerance for coffee shop exploration, and you're Jewish.

I can't eat gluten (don't worry - I went to a real doctor and I'm actually diseased) so if sharing giant loaves of bread is your idea of the best date ever, we probably aren't the best match.
