My self-summary
My name is Sam, and the only thing I truly and deeply identify as is a nerd and a theatre person. I just moved here from Columbus, OH, where I was very big into the musical theatre scene there. Sadly, I haven't found the time and energy to do that here yet, but I hope to really soon (full time jobs are exhausting, eh?)

The reason I perform is out of a genuine desire to make people happy. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a smile on someones face and knowing that I was the one to put it there (can't be a real theatre person without a bit of ego-stroking, or my new favorite term "Actorbating")

I am also lacking in a proper gender identity. It's a conversation I love to have. I present very mascline (until I start getting giddy about musical theatre) but I don't ever identify as masculine. Nor do I often identify as feminine. I usually just say my gender is "nerdy". But that is not totally accurate either. I could see cases for non-binary, gender fluid, or agender, but it is hard to pin down. I usually just ignore the concept all together and live how I feel like living. It's worked out so far.
What I’m doing with my life
I just moved to Boston and I couldn't be happier. I am finally independant, with a full time job I love, in a city I can explore.

Currently, I work as a Job Coach for people with disabilities. It's a ton of fun and extremely rewarding. Before that I was a photographer at The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium and a programs teacher at a science center in Columbus, OH, which was crazy fun.
I’m really good at
Teaching, learning, board games, video games, slight of hand, singing, math, music theory, juggling, stage combat, video editing, overthinking, going on tangents in conversations and somehow finding the way back, not being a dick, listening, feeling, communicating, and being honest.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Song of Ice and Fire series, Life of Pi, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, all the Harry Potter books, A Brief History of Time, Tricks of the Mind by Derren Brown.

Movies: Pretty much everything except modern slasher films. My all time favorite movie (after careful consideration after working at Blockbuster for a year and a half) is Princess Bride. I recently got my first tattoo and it's Princess Bride themed, and I love it. Notable other favorites include (in no order): Every Pixar movie (Incredibles is my favorite), every Marvel Studios movie, Big Lebowski, Star Wars, The Prestige, Fight Club, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Lord of War, Lucky Number Slevin, American Beauty, Reservoir Dogs, Labyrinth, Tommy Boy, Surf Ninjas (If you are familiar with Surf Ninjas, please message me, I am beginning to think this movie never existed for anyone else), Galaxy Quest, Watchmen, Tim's Vermeer, King of Kong, What We Do In Shadows, and pretty much everything else. This list is never truly finished.

TV Shows: Firefly, Doctor Who, Misfits, Sherlock, Community, HarmonQuest, Game of Thrones, Venture Bros, Rick and Morty, Buffy/Angel, Arrested Development, Parks & Rec, Person of Interest, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Silicon Valley, Last Week Tonight, Orange is the New Black, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Stranger Things, Sense8, House of Cards, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 30 Rock, SNL, The Office, Penn & Teller Fool Us, Mythbusters

Music: Despite having been a Music major in college, I don't really listen to music much as a pastime, so I am not very pop culture literate when it comes to music. If you show me music you like, I will probably like it too, and thank you for showing me something new. I don't discover music on my own very often. I am still stuck in the Beatles and Queen era. Also a lot of musical theatre. And lately I've been introduced to a lot of Goth stuff I really dig. I just went to a concert for Walter Sickert & The Army of Broken Toys and it was *fucking phenomenal*

Board Games: Sentinels of the Multiverse, Arkham Horror, Twilight Struggle, Cards Against Humanity, Munchkin, Munchkin Quest

Video Games: Overwatch, Undertale, Mass Effect, Fallout, Borderlands, FTL, Hand of Fate, Super Meat Boy, The Longest Journey/Dreamfall, Papers Please, XCOM, Portal, LEGO Games
The six things I could never do without
My friends, my family, my computer, my phone, my piano, the theatre.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot. Just constantly. I love thinking about stuff, from the mundane to the unknowable and everything in between. I also would love to talk out loud about these subjects. I love conversation and can talk about almost any subject with someone who cares about that subject. I love to learn and I love to share, so if you want to talk about it I am 100% there.

Lately, I've been thinking alot about polyamory, relationships, gender, sex, kink. The way people interact with and feel for one another, as well as how they self-identify is endlessly fascinating to me, and I will talk with anyone about these subjects at length and love every second of it. So, hey, you reading this, if you want to talk about these things, I don't even care if you don't think I'm attractive or don't want to have a relationship, please message me and lets talk. I love hearing peoples opinion about it, and normally people only get to talk about that stuff with people they are intimate with or otherwise close to, and I think that limits perspectives greatly. I want to hear from you about these subjects. Yes you, so message me and lets talk.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once thought that I gave someone epilepsy. It's actually a really funny story, ask me about it!
You should message me if
You know of a cool place in Boston you want to show me. I am new and don't know *anywhere* yet.

You love theatre, singing, video games, board games, or you just want someone to make you laugh.

I love meeting new people, and am always up for people to play games with or sing, or go geocaching if the weather isn't too cold.

If you are looking for more than friendship, you should know that I am in an open relationship. I will happily tell you all about what that means if you want to know more, but it's something I like to have upfront. I am mainly looking for people to help me explore Boston, go on dates, and/or have fun FWB's. I want to get to know more people here and on any level they'd like. I am pretty laid back and low pressure. I am also perfectly fine with meeting people who just want to be friends. I am an extrovert in a city where I know, like 3 people, who are all introverts. So please, come take me to some awesome thing.

A lot of people aren't into the fact that I am in an open-relationship, so I probably won't send the first message, out of anxiety. I like people who aren't afraid to make the first move anyway.
