My self-summary
So, I recently started seeing someone I like very much. Thanks, OKC! /testimonial
UPDATE: Engaged to her now! Even more thanks, OKC!

Ahh, an unguided essay with no prompts. Hmm, what to say. I'm 27, new in town, a college graduate, and in between phases of my life. If all goes well, next year I'll be in medical school going slightly crazy. But I'm not a one-dimensional science guy (although, I do love it). I have an artistic side. As dorky as it seems, I wanted to be a screenwriter for many years prior to my med school dreams.
What I’m doing with my life
Applying to med schools for 2012 and working as an MCAT instructor for Kaplan in the meantime. Hopefully, getting involved with some volunteer work soon, too.

In my spare time, I'm big into movies. Most particularly, I'm into 70's horror, but I'm aware that that's a very specific niche...I watch plenty of regular movies, too. The Muppets, for instance, was a fantastic movie.
I’m really good at
I try to be pretty decent at a lot of things. I orienteer, train my dogs, read a lot, write/shoot the occasional short film (mostly just for fun), I'm pretty good with computers, hopefully I'll be a good teacher once I start instruction in January, and I'm pretty knowledgeable about medical stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know, you'll have to ask them!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Currently reading: The Road (Cormac McCarthy)
Max Barry is my favorite author (Jennifer Government, Syrup, Company).

The Coen Brothers, Romero, and Raimi are my favorite directors, but my list of favorite movies is far too long to paste here. Just a smattering, though: No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Drag Me to Hell, the Dead Trilogy, O Brother Where Art Thou, I <3 Huckabees, Pan's Labyrinth, Alien and plenty of others.

I like a lot of genres of music, but mostly Indie and Classic Rock. Definitely some hip hop, a little techno/Dubstep too. Barenaked Ladies and The Decemberists are my favorite bands, though. Can't beat those witty lyrics! Muse is a close #3 because arpeggios are great!

I love all sorts of ethnic food but I have the lamest digestive disorder in the world, Celiac disease, so I can't have wheat which limits my choices substantially. Fortunately, sushi and Mexican are largely still on the menu so I might yet survive.
Six things I could never do without
1) My contains my entire life. Probably a bad idea but hey, they make it so easy!
2) My dogs. They're awesome. I may have to let my parents keep them next year, which is somewhat heartbreaking.
3) The Bears/White Sox...okay, I probably COULD do without them but I wouldn't want to.
4) My friends! I left them all in the Midwest and I miss them!
5) My family. Some of them are here, others are in Michigan.
6) My kidneys. For obvious reasons.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What the world would be like if I had a dinosaur to ride. When I was a kid I was SO sure I would have one by now. Funny how life doesn't work out the way you plan sometimes.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing whatever my friends are doing. I just want to hang out with people I like.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Haha, right. You have to EARN that!
You should message me if
You have a secret (or not so secret) nerdy side, because mine is totally present and I can only hide it for so long!

And, apparently I match up really well with lawyers. They're all my best matches. So, calling all lawyers, I guess!
