My self-summary
I moved to Milwaukee about 10 years ago for my job after graduating from the University of Michigan.
I was in a long-term relationship for most of the time I've been in Milwaukee, but I've been single (mostly) for a few years now. While I don't have high expectations for online dating, I figure it can't hurt to have something out there.
It's a total cliche, but I fully believe in the whole "work hard, play hard" way of life. I'll also try anything once (maybe even twice). I can't guarantee that I'll enjoy it, but I'll definitely try it.
Even though I'm a Milwaukee transplant, I love attending Packers, Brewers, and Admirals games. However, my NHL and NCAA loyalties are still firmly planted in Michigan (Red Wings and Wolverines!!!).

I am independent, outgoing, and adventurous
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I work at an actuarial consulting firm in the suburbs of Milwaukee. I just moved downtown after many years of suburban (boring) living.
I started dance lessons at age 4 (tap, jazz, and ballet), and recently signed up for some dance classes after a long hiatus. For the most part, it was like riding a bike...however, I learned that I am not good at hip hop.
I am also a certified scuba diver and try to go on at least one dive trip a year. Most recently I went to Cayman Brac.
I’m really good at
You probably wouldn't guess it from looking at me, but I'm really good at math. I almost stayed in school to get my PhD, but I stopped at a bachelor's degree and decided I'd rather have someone pay me to play with numbers all day. So far, so good!
I play several instruments (piano, guitar, clarinet, flute, saxophone, and voice, if that counts), so I guess I'd say I'm
pretty musically inclined as well.
The first things people usually notice about me
This one is tricky! I could tell you the things I would hope people first notice about me, but I'm not sure it's what they actually notice. Tell me what you think, and I'll start compiling a list of responses...maybe do some statistical analysis, charts, graphs, etc. See the "I'm really good at" section above :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite authors are Christopher Buckley, Ayn Rand, and David Sedaris. "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole is probably the funniest book I've ever read, and I would recommend it to anyone with a decent sense of humor.
I don't watch movies very often, but I love older comedies like Animal House, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Spaceballs. I hate to admit it, but I still laugh at the Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler movies from the early 90's.
My favorite shows all seem to be on FX lately...Always Sunny, Louie, The League, Sons of Anarchy.
I like all kinds of music except really twangy-sounding country, and I never turn down the chance to see a live show.
As far as food goes, as long as it's nothing totally weird, I will probably eat it. Except fish. Hate fish.
Six things I could never do without
Friends and family
My two cats, Reggie and Wendell
Cell phone/computer (sad, I know)
Dance shoes, instruments, basically some form of artistic expression
My king-sized bed/pillowtop mattress (heavenly)
My awesome six-speed BMW 335 (that's an E90 if you're hardcore), a total impulse buy and now I'm completely obsessed with Bimmers
I spend a lot of time thinking about
OK Cupid's absurd number of body type choices. I mean, what's the difference between fit and athletic? Thin and skinny? I'm smart and I don't get it. How do the majority of people on this site who are half-retarded figure it out?
I'm still not sure what to choose here but I ended up changing my selection from "athletic" to "thin". Why? Because several of my male friends said all the "athletic" girls they had met online looked like they had EATEN an athletic girl.
On a typical Friday night I am
staying in or out with friends (not very specific, I know). It depends on the weather...I tend to stay in during the winter because I'd rather be curled up by the fireplace than freezing my ass off wandering around downtown. I tend to prefer going out Saturday nights for some reason.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I go through a bottle of Frank's Red Hot nearly once a week. Like that old lady in the commercials...I put that s*** on everything!
You should message me if
You should send me a message if you are a tall, decent-looking, gainfully employed gentleman who is actually looking for a relationship with an independent, successful woman. If you can't form a complete, grammatically correct sentence, take a joke, or get ready to go out in under 30 minutes, then we probably won't get along.
On the other hand, if you constantly correct people to the point of being pretentious, don't understand that there is a time and place for being serious, or don't bathe on a regular basis, we probably won't get along either.
I should also mention that I'm interested in actually meeting people in real life. A guy friend once told me, "Attraction is subjective. It's especially subjective from the point of view of women, because they are nuts." Obviously, I can't agree with the whole statement, but the first part is true. There's no accounting for chemistry (or misrepresentation when you're meeting online).
