My self-summary
I'm a warm, affectionate guy who appreciates simple things. Making music is my passion and where I find my truest sense of spirituality.

I've been told I'm a great listener and a calming presence. I value sincerity but have an absurd sense of humor and a pretty ridiculous uninhibited laugh.

I love the energy of the city, but appreciate stillness and silence and the outdoors even more (I'm from Maine, it's in the blood). The beautiful things in life are what interest me most.
What I’m doing with my life
Playing music that hopefully moves people in some way. Composing and performing (saxophone and clarinet) with my band, and freelancing with various jazz groups, singer/songwriters, etc.

Trying to be an empathetic, compassionate and generous human being overall.

I'm pretty liberal and try to be engaged with issues of social & economic justice. And I find myself being increasingly engaged considering the present circumstances!
I’m really good at
Listening, finding humor in odd places, being affectionate, music stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
People say they're calmer when they're around me. And according to some, my laugh is unique and kind of charming. Also, my eyes are really colorful. And I'm tall.

family + friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The inadequacy of words
How cultivating compassion could resolve so much
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at a show or performing, or watching movies at home. Maybe at a house concert / pot luck / awesome indian or tibetan joints in my neighborhood.
You should message me if
You're open, affectionate and up for doing anything or nothing with the right person.

You dig the introspective types.
