My self-summary
Worked a decade in ICT before I decided to quit my job and get a M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Afterwards I became a lecturer (at the Delft university and a polytechnic) and created my own company selling post-grad courses and technical advice. Now I'm looking for new friends or a spontaneous and free-spirited girl to enjoy life with.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to grow my small company next to my regular job. I do sports, both indoors (squash and gym) and outdoors (cycling, kayaking, sailing). I also like to see an expo or play now and then or read up on history and politics.

Stuff I did in my past are a decade of arthouse movie theater volunteer work and several years of amateur acting. I also created a new international sailing (racing) class and did some latin dancing.

You know, I think I would really like to do Argentinian Tango dancing again. Interested ?
I’m really good at
Analysing, conceptualizing and thinking out of the box. I'm also told that I can write "a good piece", must be my INFP personality type.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I seem to project an open, trustworthy and dependable personality. Perfectly unkown people always seem to ask me for advice or directions when I'm in a shop or even when travelling abroad. They are always surprised to find that I'm just as unfamiliar to that situation as they are !
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book : "Het schitterend ongeluk" by Wim Kayzer
Movies : Eternal Sunshine ... , Life as a House, Atonement, The Painted Veil
Music : Avicii to oldies like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Food : I'm pretty big on Korean food these days.
Shows : Does anybody remember "Due South" as a TV series ? And Buffy of course ! (Haven't watched TV in a long time however)
The six things I could never do without
Science, knowledge and art ; otherwise my brain starves.
People ; I may have a sort of love-hate relationship going on there.
The world ; I like to experience the world around me, hence I like to do sports out in the open and travel.
Male-Female interaction : What would Yang be without his Yin (and vice versa)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of things actually.

But that could be a good start for our date.
On a typical Friday night I am
Got a busy job and run a small company in my spare time. Friday night for me is first and foremost about unwinding from the demanding week that preceded it. There are no fixed rules about how this is achieved. I could be going out or riding my motorbike in the setting sun. Whatever I feel like
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can be a bit argumentative and sometimes a bit sarcastic too.

I'm stupid like that.

Also I'll quickly move to talk to you by phone, skype and meet up for a drink. Too often things devolve into lengthy chat sessions that eventually go nowhere and I have a life beyond OKC !
You should message me if
You want an engaging friendship or a serious long term relationship.

Of course I'd like to meet a girl who's smart, spontaneous, loving, maybe a bit mischievous and date her. But it goes too far to say that's what I'm on OKC for as I'd like to meet new people and just take it from there.

And ohh, initiating contact is cool for a girl; it is the 21st century, no ? I try my best to find you amongst the bulk of profiles, but we can "cut to the chase" if you help me out just a little. Thanks.
