My self-summary
Worked a decade in ICT before I figured that I was on the wrong track and decided to quit my job and went to university to get a M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering. Graduated several years ago and became a lecturer and also created my own company selling commercial courses and technical advice. With that done, I'm now looking for an adventureous and free-spirited girl to embark on the next journey. … just did a personality test I'm a INFP type.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it. With all the ups and downs that that entails. Sure, it gets lonely occasionally but then there are also those summer evenings spent cycling or those star filled nights while kayaking around Haarlem. These put everything back into perspective. Would like to share these and other activities like theater visits with someone.

Stuff I did in my past like a decade of arthouse movie theater volunteer work or amateur acting I save for our talk over coffee. Must leave some info to be discovered during further contact, right ! ;-)

You know, I think I would really like to do Argentinian Tango dancing again and do it properly in the street of Buenos Aires. Do you want to join me ?
I’m really good at
Analysing, conceptualizing and thinking out of the box. I'm also told I can write "a good piece", must be my INFP personality type.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I seem to project an open, trustworthy and dependable personality. Perfectly unkown people always seem to ask me for advice or directions when I'm in a shop or even when travelling abroad. They are always very surprised to find that I'm just as unfamiliar to that situation as they are !
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book : "Het schitterend ongeluk" by Wim Kayzer
Movies : Eternal Sunshine ... , Life as a House, Atonement, The Painted Veil
Music : From Levels/Avicii to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Food : I'm pretty big on Korean food these days.
Shows : Does anybody remember "Due South" as a TV series ? And Buffy of course ! (don't watch TV anymore, real life is more exiting !)
The six things I could never do without
Science, knowledge and art ; otherwise my brain starves.
People ; I may have a sort of love-hate relationship going on there.
The world ; I like to experience the world around me, hence I like to do sports out in the open and travel.
Male-Female duo-unity : What would Ying be without its Yang
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of things actually.

These two thought provoking video's for example :

http://youtu.be/oeLwbZgJ7ns (for a good laugh as well)
http://youtu.be/tJ1iVtNUHng (more serious but very true)

She makes some good points.
On a typical Friday night I am
Got a busy job and run a small company in my spare time. Friday night for me is first and foremost about unwinding from the demanding week that preceded it. There are no fixed rules about how this is achieved.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can be a bit argumentative and sometimes a bit sarcastic too.

I'm stupid like that.

I'll quickly move to talk to you by phone, skype or even meeting for a drink as I feel that that is the only way to really get to know the other and i'm here to find someone special. Too often things devolve into lengthy chat sessions that eventually go nowhere and I do have a life beyond OKC too !
You should message me if
You want an engaging friendship or if you want something serious. I'd like to meet a girl who's smart, spontaneous, wise, loving, maybe mischievous and is not afraid of living life and engaging the world around her.

I've also found that it really helps when you've gained some life experience, have a job and understand what works and what doesn't.

And ohh, initiating contact is cool for a girl, it is the 21st century, no ? I try my best to find you amongst the bulk of profiles, but we can "cut to the chase" if you help me out just a little. Thanks.
