My self-summary
Warning: This profile is a tad long. Hopefully it is worth it

I grew up in LA, moved to San Diego for school. A few years after school I moved to the east coast for a job and then lived in Alaska for a few years. Now I call Seattle home

Some things I believe:
Bacon makes everything better
The fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach
Monkeys make everything funnier
Steve Guttenberg is the best actor of his generation
Watching Bob Ross is my happy place
Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic strip. Period.
Everybody needs a Thunder Buddy.
The only way to sail in the caribbean is on a tall ship using stars to navigate
Women who smile with their eyes light up rooms
A woman who smells great is intoxicating
Naps are totally underrated
My cellphone should stay in my pocket during meals

All the selfies I've ever taken are in my photos for this profile. I'm not a fan of being in front of the camera.

My celebrity free pass list: Norah Jones, Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt, Tiffani Amber Thiessen.

I'm secretly a canadian. Well actually I'm a dual citizen. But it probably explains my politeness and need to say "eh" every now and then.

Sometimes I tend to make outlandish claims, like I invented the apostrophe.

I once had the opportunity to have Kareem Abdul Jabar autograph anything I wanted. I got him to sign my copy of "Airplane!" because that is how I roll. He laughed while doing it and now it is one of my most prized possessions.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an oceanographer which means I spent a few months of the year out at sea. Usually I go to Alaska which means I have been able to see some amazing things and try to hone my amateur photography skills capturing them.

Occasionally I am also sent out after disasters like hurricanes, tsunamis, oil spills and tragedies at sea so I tend to travel quite a bit.

According to Jack Donaghy, "Oceanography's a pretty cool life." I have to agree.

It also means when I am home I prefer to not spend all my time outdoors. I get an amazing amount of nature from my job and I enjoy my downtime with my dog and friends when I'm home. So because of that and a lot of injuries when I was younger, if you're looking for someone who will hike Rainier every weekend with you, I'm probably not going to able to do that with you.

Also, it means I haven't really dated in years so you'll need to be patient with me as I try to get less awkward. I'm a quick learner though and very earnest so hopefully your patience is worthwhile.

And because I get asked this a lot, my favorite ocean is Billy Ocean.
I’m really good at
Obscure trivia and randomly quoting movies like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure in everyday conversations
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes. Depending on what I am wearing they can either be grey, green or blue. They also get crazy red eye in photos so sometimes I look like I'm the devil. But I promise I'm not.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book: Lamb, the gospel according to Biff
Movie: Jaws, Airplane!
Show: Veep, Archer, Stranger Things
Music: Just about anything depending on what mood I am in or want to be in
Food: Mexican and In-N-Out burger
The six things I could never do without
My dog
The ocean
Mexican food
Sunshine in the summer
Snow in the winter
Women in great smelling perfume
(yes I know that is seven, but they are all important)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How as time goes by the movie Idiocracy becomes more and more prescient and whether I should take the path of Channel 6 news anchor, Kent "and I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords" Brockman, or, should I, in the words of Dylan Thomas, "Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, Rage against the dying of the light."

Ok that was kind of overly deep and honestly I don't spend too much time thinking about it. But it does come up every now and then. Plus it is not often you can combine Kent Brockman and Dylan Thomas in a single thought.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably regretting that decision to get Doritos Locos tacos at Taco Bell.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm secretly a fan of Neil Diamond. I celebrate his entire catalog.
You should message me if
You have big boobs. Just kidding. Seriously. I've gotten some nasty emails thinking I'm serious. I appreciate boobs of all sizes :) You should message me if you've made it all the way through my profile and you're still interested in getting to know me better. A girl who makes the first move is pretty sexy. Also, if we have liked each other then I think it's a pretty safe bet we are interested in each other. However, if you listed any Ayn Rand novel as one of your favorites we're not going to get along.
