My self-summary
If you're browsing me because I browsed you first it's either because I travel a lot and am planning a trip to your region or I'm being insatiably curious about what questions resulted in our high percentages and reading your profile because I find people fascinating. I don't meet people in person except by freak chance or finding them fascinating from conversational exchanges.

I'm available but not single and not actively seeking sex partners (I have to find a person intriguing through conversation/interacting first and that's not easy for the average person). When it comes to friends-with-benefits friendship doesn't guarantee you get benefits and you definitely don't get benefits without the friendship being there. This means propositioning me first usually doesn't work and may result in my becoming fully apathetic to you if I don't know you well; I will let people know if I'm interested in them sexually very clearly.

For someone that spent the first two thirds of my life in Mississippi I don't have an accent and loathe the xenophobia the rest of my family takes pride in. I have a passion for traveling and trying to understand other cultures. My primary passion though is masquerade balls; I might not know how to dance but put me in a mask (and costume...usually) and I will have the most amazing night of my life dragging everyone around me along for the ride.

If you're sending me an message I don't respond to people who only open by talking about my appearance, if the whole body of the text is "How are you doing?/Hello." or has nothing to base the conversation on. I might be missing out on awesome conversations but odds are I'm not because they didn't read my profile.

Hobbies/Interests: Crafts (I can't sew but I'm reasonably good at jewelry and masks), movies, reading, drawing, table top rpgs, board games

I am affectionate, social, and more than a little odd
What I’m doing with my life
Surrounding myself with interesting people and collecting interesting stories (both my own and others').
I’m really good at
- Crafts... I make papermache masks, bead jewelry, no-sew costumes bits, and miniature conversions for wargames.

- Making boob jokes at my own expense.

- Catching people I find fascinating off guard.

- Living a reality my online friends think is a lie.
The first things people usually notice about me
Depends on the individual I'd love to say eyes or any number of other features but it's usually my curves. The other is my hair, I've stopped counting the number of people that randomly touch it and I have several coworkers that will sneak up behind me and play with it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a fan of Jim Butcher's "Dresden Files", Kim Harrison, Pattricia Briggs, George R. R. Martin, and a slew of others. Oh and my friend Seanan McGuire (aka Mira Grant) is an AMAZING urban fantasy. Go. Read and help support a fellow geek (also, buy her music; that woman can sing). I'm a fan of Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman, Neil Stephenson, and Sergei Lukyaneko too. I'll read almost anything and if I like a book it's usually only going to last less than 3 days and that's if I'm busy. I keep a copy of The Complete Collections of H.P. Lovecraft next to my bed and re-read them often (sure he was a xenophobic shut in but he created interesting horror)

I've also read the Principia Discordia 3 times... and think I understood some of it. Scared yet?

Bloodties, Dresden Files, Lost Girl, Carnivale, and most other tv series that are fun and well written but I don't see often since I don't watch TV much.

All time favorites are Labyrinth, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Legend. However, I'm a fan of most Sci-fi, Horror, and Fantasy. I'm not into "girly" movies and most romantic comedies can't hold my attention long. I have a big soft spot for Horror Musicals...I've yet to meet one I didn't love.

Abney Park, Sonata Arctica, Inkubus Sukkubus, VAST, Garbage, Savatage, Dropkick Murphies, Flogging Molly, VNV Nation, Babyland, Tom Smith, Cruxshadows, Concrete Blonde, Enigma, Delerium, Stromkern, Sisters of Mercy, Heather Alexander,.... tons more being discovered constantly

Yes. Do you want specific dishes or ethnicity here? It's easier to list what I don't like. Take me to dinner I'll find something on the menu I like... or barring that I'll discover something new. I LOVE Asian foods not just sushi and sashimi or Chinese dishes but everything within my heat tolerance spice wise. Tom-Kah-Gai is heaven and Lamb Curry dishes are delicious.
The six things I could never do without
1 - Family (blood relations have nothing to do with being family)
2 - books
3 - Survival necessities (food, water, shelter, ect)
4 - sunblock
5 - a link to the outside world
6 - variety
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How long until the next Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball ( http://www.labyrinthmasquerade.com/ ) is left and will I complete my costumes in time?

Various perspectives people hold of love.

Why my sister got all the tanning genes and I get mild sunburns on full moons.

Men with long hair (one thing most of my exes, former lovers, and current paramours share)
On a typical Friday night I am
Board games with a bunch of awesome people and a few...less awesome but definitely interesting people.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know it asked for just the "most private" but here are four semi-private confessions:

Lawn gnomes freak me out. We'll just leave it at "childhood trauma"

I am absolutely terrified of dancing in public but still want to take dance lessons particularly ballroom and bellydancing.

Masks are sexy.

If a man has long hair, that's well kept, he instantly has a higher chance at seducing me... though, if he can't wow me intellectually or with common hobbies I lose interest immediately. And if he hits on me without wowing me intellectually he gets added to the "People I want to set on fire" list just like everyone else.
You should message me if
You've got a topic ready to go and think asking how someone is doing should not be all there is of the first message exchange. If you're messaging me on OKC you find me interesting or attractive in some manner. No need to tell me that, let's have a conversation about our common interests.
By messaging me and not following correct conversation format described here you consent to a full critique of your conversational deficiencies.
I'm interested in:
- any excuse to wear a elaborate costume in public (I do not own any fur suits though.)
- Geeks wanting to get together for gaming
- If your idea of a fun outing is a used bookstore, board games and interesting food...I'm also a fan for lasertag, trampolines, night time park visits, zoos and museums.
- People who can introduce themselves properly and hold a conversation with a stranger that doesn't cross into the sexual right off the bat.
- If you know the difference between a compliment and a catcall.
