My self-summary
I'm an English Literature graduate working two jobs: magazine editor and sports trader so I'm simultaneously making books and book making.

I'm a keen rugby player, but I'm perhaps not your archetypal rugger bugger. I enjoy the finer points of culture (in particular theatre and nice-ish red wine) alongside the delights of lager and sticky-floored nightclubs.

In quieter moments I'm something of a reader, particularly enjoying post-1970 fiction (Houellebecq, Coe, Barnes and the like), and a lover of mid 20th century British film - especially the work of Lindsay Anderson.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing and editing features for a number of magazines, working in the sports betting industry, and tutoring people Latin for GCSE and A level - varied enough?
I’m really good at
Sleeping through my alarm
Keeping wicket
Check raising with the nuts
The first things people usually notice about me
Questionable taste in shoes (brown brogues are the only acceptable footwear)
An accent far too posh for someone brought up in the West Midlands
Inability to smile without looking like Wallace (as in '& Gromit')
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Jonathan Coe, Michel Houellebecq, JG Ballard, Iain Sinclair, Chaucer
Movies: Anything directed by Lindsay Anderson, Apocalypse Now, Quadrophenia, Wayne's World
Music: Ska punk and Vaughan Williams
Food: curry lover and also have a weakness for greasy spoon breakfasts
The six things I could never do without
brown brogues
Radio 4
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Poems, words, sports, popular culture, ankles.
On a typical Friday night I am
Frantically ringing round trying to organise my rugby team for Saturday (club captain) whilst having some after work drinks
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I enjoy WWE wrestling
