My self-summary
Bored - Yeah, I don't like writing about myself. What? You wanted to know more?

If you say so. I'm a pretty much self-taught single father and software engineer. While at I get to have fun figuring out how to write software that solves problems that other people have. At home I have the privilege of raising an awesome daughter. Outside doing that, I've found ways to keep myself busy.

I do, somehow, manage to come across the occasional free time. I enjoy making music, and can play the drums pretty well. I also like to hike, and camp, though I don't do either nearly enough. Many nights, I'll spend time watching TV after my daughter has gone to bed. I go on walks, and love to talk.

I have a somewhat sarcastic sense of humor, though it changes given the situation. When everybody is tense, I'm usually the person trying to get them to laugh and loosen up.

Other than that, I really don't know what else to say. If there's anything you'd like to know, just ask. I'm not one to hold back.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm pretty happy where I'm at. I'd like to be more social, and I'm always trying to be a better example for my daughter.
I’m really good at
It's hard to narrow down a list of things I'm really good at because the list changes and grows with time. I take pride in being able to learn almost anything very quickly in order to solve complicated problems and make things work. That's what I do both professionally, and at home. I've become a really good cook. I can play drums really well. If I have a reason to be really good at it, I am.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes. People always make comments about my eyes. I've even been asked if I wear colored contacts. After those, they realize I'm generally pretty quiet. I'm not exactly shy, but I tend to get lost in my head easily.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love sci-fi and fantasy. As for movies, the Matrix, and The Lord of the Rings trilogies are some of my favorites. "The Lord of the Rings" books were much better than the movies though. I also loved reading the "His Dark Materials" trilogy, "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", "The Dark Elf Trilogy", the "Twilight" series, and many others. When it comes to music, I like just about anything, although there is very little rap and country that I like.
Six things I could never do without
I can't think of anything that I could never do without other than food and water because I can think of workarounds for everything else. In the context of "life as normal" however, it would be hard to do without my daughter, a computer for work, a stove to cook on, an alarm clock to wake me up, internet access for reference material, and my car to get me to work.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about problems that don't have clear cut solutions. I try to find solutions that have both short term and long term benefits.
On a typical Friday night I am
I usually hang out with my daughter and family, an watch Shark tank.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love to please those that I love. Really though, I'll in private I open up about just about anything, just ask.
You should message me if
You should definitely message me if you're open to the possibilities. I don't know what my destiny is. Maybe it's with you, maybe it isn't. Either way, if we never meet, we'll never know.
The two of us
