My self-summary
I have had a charmed life. Am recently retired and can recommend it. I was fortunate enough to have a job which sent me around the world to mainly off the beaten track locations and I have recently returned to Australia to live. I am optimistic, adventurous, fit and healthy. My sense of humour is dry, sarcy and comes free of charge. What little baggage I carry is small and light.

People tell me I look like Ben Kingsley and Patrick Stewart . That's fine by me. Someone once said I look like Prince Charles - defamation lawsuit pending.

I am intelligent, witty, a good listener, easy to talk to and currently without beard. Be great to find someone to hang out with and travel with. If things move beyond that, so much the better.
What I’m doing with my life
Being spontaneous. Pottering around and pleasing myself and enjoying having the time and the money to do it. Doing a bit of work to the house which I enjoy. Travel overseas several times a year. Always up for an outing to a restaurant, gallery, cafe or a movie. In winter you will find me skiing. Waste far too much time on youtube.
I’m really good at
I am a good listener and open to talk about anything. I am reliable, comfortable with who I am, can laugh at myself (plenty of subject matter there), have simple needs and I don't need much to make me happy.

I know my way round the world and am good at talking my way out of trouble.
The first things people usually notice about me
My broad shoulders and my smile. People who meet me through this site will notice that my photographs are recent and not taken 30 years ago.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I pay attention to what's going on the world. Big fan of Radio National and BBC World Service and grateful for SBS and ABC TV. The TV remote is handy so I can turn down the volume when Tony Abbott or his Abbotteers open their stupid mouths. I have just finished reading The Good Life by Hugh Mackay. Bertrand Russell's autobiography is next.

Movies - Yes. I am happy to cuddle up with someone and watch a movie at home but also enjoy films in the big dark room. Most Hollywood blockbuster movies don't interest me - prefer Independent movies. You will always find me at film festivals if I moved quickly and got tickets.

Food - I would die without it. Italian, Thai and Lebanese are favourites but I eat almost anything. I can cook some of it too.

Music - my taste is eclectic - from punk to classical to world to rock and much in between. I try to avoid hip hop, rap and country and western. caters for almost all my tastes.
