My self-summary
I am what you discern through the text of this website; a traveler, writer and budding dialectician (to say nothing of a recent transplant to Shanghai). I anticipate a career change to gentleman adventurer within the near future.

In all seriousness, however, I am (among my many vices) a consultant pondering a terminal degree after which I plan to live a genteel life of largesse, integrity and all-around chivalric romance.
What I’m doing with my life
In my spare time, I take a cue from Robert Heinlein:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

Self-improvement is a constant endeavor. Also, I pursue convivial companionship, fine food and superb beverages with tremendous zeal.
I’m really good at
I'm an urban explorer and could walk until the ends of the earth, plus I have a knack for getting selectively lost and unlost at will. I develop a sense of new cities very quickly and can adapt to almost any surroundings, one of the benefits of living abroad. Riding the rails is a top priority, as is getting off the grid. When travelling for pleasure, I seek out cold climates instead of warm ones.

I also pride myself on rolling natural 20's when the party needs them most.
The first things people usually notice about me
My insouciance. Also, my socks typically match; how about yours?

Six things I could never do without
My wits, the Thomas Cooke Overseas Timetable and the good sense to think before I speak.

A pair of solid boots.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Reading, writing, scuba diving, cooking, hiking & rambling, travel, cats, witty ripostes and poetic swordplay, organic gardening, mountaineering, good scholarship, trains and rail travel, pulp fiction (in the penny dreadful sense), tea, role-playing games and extraordinary things. Also, pickled okra.
On a typical Friday night I am
It's a dark night in a city that knows how to keep its secrets. But on the twelfth floor of the ACME building, one man is still trying to find the answers to life's persistent questions...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am inordinately fond of my color-sorted drawer of imported Swedish pajamas.
You should message me if
I invite inquiries from all interested (and interesting!) parties. If you want to communicate, send me a message, because I won't know if you just give me a star rating.

Likewise, I admire wordplay, curious turns of phrase and a woman possessed of legendary wit, beauty and charm with the inclination to become one half of an Adventure Duo.
