My self-summary
My name's Armand and I'm definitely a geek, no question there. Software developer by trade, writer at heart. Did I mention I'm an avid D&D gamer? No? There's that, too.

I'm pretty laid-back. I can be a couch potato, but I love to hike and am trying to keep myself motivated enough to jog. I have a tiny bit of social anxiety.

And I don't like roller coasters. You should know that now.
What I’m doing with my life
Just bought a house and adopted a lovely English Shepherd named Molly.

Most of my free time honestly goes to D&D, both gaming and creating. I run campaigns and create content that I would love to one day publish. Maybe I will! I've also gotten back into writing these days. Mainly short form, but what amateur writer doesn't have a novel brewing in their head?
I’m really good at
Writing. It comes from my father. I've got half a dozen stories cooking up in my head at any given moment.

Also, I'm told I'm good at giving hugs and massages. Plus, I'm a listener. (Fair warning: I *am* one of those people whose instinct is to try to solve problems, so I have a habit of listening long and hard, then trying to give advice)
The first things people usually notice about me
That's a tough one. I usually wear subdued clothing and don't talk a whole lot if I don't know someone... so I'm usually trying to stay out of the spotlight.

BUT, honestly, it's probably my inclination to correct people. If it's something I know (or think I know) I'll jump in and add my two cents to a conversation. Maybe sometimes unnecessarily.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Ender's Game series has always been one of my favorites, and I really enjoy The Dresden Files. American Gods is possibly my favorite standalone novel. I used to read a lot. Tons. Loved a bunch of books.., but then I read The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear and now I'm spoiled by Patrick Rothfuss.

I'm that guy that isn't particularly impressed by movies anymore and has some seriously eclectic tastes. I love Casablanca and Terminator 2. 2001: A Space Odyssey is fantastic and so is Pulp Fiction. Also, Winter Soldier is hands-down the best Marvel movie so far. FIGHT ME.

Look, I'd list a billion different sci-fi and fantasy shows here and they'd be things I like a lot. But I'm going to be honest with you. There's only one show that matters here and people look at me funny when I say this is my favorite show. But, *cough* here goes: Gilmore Girls. If you hate Gilmore Girls, we're going to have a problem.

It's been a while since I've watched anime, but top of my list was Code Geass, Death Note, Rurouni Kenshin, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Eden of the East was also a good series if you ignore the movies...

Yoav, Twenty One Pilots, Queen, Blackmore's Night, Gaelic Storm, 30 Seconds to Mars, Florent Marchet, Yelle, Indila, Shawn Phillips, Christopher Tin and SOUNDTRACKS. No really, I probably have more original scores than band albums.

I like most anything and am generally willing to try new things. Also, the spicier the better. I was raised on Bengali food. I can take it. Oh... and... I'm sort of a beer snob. I'm sorry. Craft is just... better. So much better.
Six things I could never do without
1. Friends
2. My computer (by extension, I am including the Internet and any specific programs I may have)
3. Books
4. Television shows
5. My pencil
6. Raggles (this means nothing to you, but an awful lot to me)

And yes, I was really tempted to be snarky and write things like "air", "food", and "water".
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stories I want to write and the D&D campaigns I'm going to run and am playing in. I mean this fairly literally: when I'm not actively doing something that requires me to pay a lot of attention, I'm almost always thinking about something to write.
On a typical Friday night I am
At a D&D game I run. Failing that, probably on the couch watching TV or maybe out at a brewery with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a stuffed animal by the name of Raggles that I've had since I was brought home from the hospital after being born. I cherish him.
